This week, we proudly celebrate the incredible individuals who are the very backbone of West Villa Animal Hospital — our veterinary technicians.

Being a veterinary technician is not simply a job; it’s a calling. It takes intelligence, resilience, and a heart overflowing with compassion.

Here at West Villa, our technicians wear more hats than most people will ever realize. You are the skilled hands assisting in surgery, the steady eyes monitoring anesthesia, and the calm voices guiding anxious clients through moments of fear and uncertainty. You draw blood, place IVs, take radiographs, perform dental cleanings, run lab work, and manage patient care from intake to recovery — often all before lunchtime.

You are educators and advocates — teaching clients, comforting families, and ensuring that every patient, no matter how small or scared, receives the dignity and care they deserve.

You are there for the first breath of a newborn puppy and the final heartbeat of a cherished senior companion. You provide comfort when it’s needed most and strength when others can’t find theirs.

What you do requires immense technical skill, but even more — it requires empathy, endurance, and an unshakable love for animals. You carry the emotional weight of this profession with quiet grace. You feel every success deeply, and you carry every loss with you — yet you return each day, ready to give your all again.

Your work is the bridge between science and compassion. You bring comfort to families, healing to patients, and humanity to veterinary medicine.

Hello everyone! Here’s just a little public service announcement. Since Tara has decided to pursue a different job, we are sharing the management duties from within. So until the practice manager position is filled we kindly ask that everyone be patient with all the staff as we are navigating through this transition. We love you all and want to continue serving our community the best we can, even if it may take us a little longer to get the hang of things without a practice manager for the time being.

Also, here is a little update to the board in our lobby! This is only 3 months worth of recording! July, August and September’s numbers!🐾

Well friends... This is a hard day. I've spent 16 years at West Villa Animal Hospital. I've seen dogs and cats grow from littles to helping them cross the rainbow bridge. I've met so many wonderful people and pets during my time here. But all good things come to an end.
Today is my last day at the clinic. It's been a very bittersweet day. Thank you to everyone who made my days at the clinic the sweetest they could be. I will never forget my time here.

Hey yall here’s a heads up for you as well as our patient of the day!!!

📢📢📢We will be having a staff meeting October 1, Wednesday NEXT WEEK! From 11:30-1:30 the clinic will be closed! We will post about this next week as well as a reminder.

Now for our patient of the day! Ms. Josie, she was a little nervous but after some treats and belly rubs we won her over!❤️🐾
