Here’s a shoutout to Ed Vine at Vine’s Trailer Repair! He picked up my trailer last night, it was back in my driveway with a new axle by 3:45 today. He picked it up, he delivered it, his prices are fantastic, he answers his texts, and his customer service is amazing! Thank you Ed! Hit him up for all your trailer needs! I’m fortunate to get to help lots of people and horses. I see lots of people succeed and even more fail in achieving what they want to do with their horses. Lots of people suggest it’s “easy” for me because I have more time 🤷🏻‍♀️, a better horse 🤷🏻‍♀️ and more skill 🤷🏻‍♀️. My answer to that is the only difference between me and them is that I don’t give up. No matter how many times I get it wrong, I keep trying until I get it right. I didn’t grow up with horses. I’ve started mine myself. I make more mistakes than anyone.

This is what I know: ANYONE can be successful with their horses if they want to be.

1. Show up - commit to time with your horse as many days a week as you can - even 10 minutes will make a difference.

2. Set some goals- and work toward them.

3. Know that everyone has bad days and that includes your horse.

4. Consistency will pay off.

5. Ask for help from someone with more knowledge.

6. Don’t let what others think of you or your perceived lack of skill get you down. Or mean FB comments 😂

7. Mistakes are the best way to learn.

8. Have fun! If you’re not, your horse isn’t either.

9. If you want to learn nothing can stop you.

10. Not everyone’s dreams and goals with their horses look the same. It’s ok to be different .

A horse will teach you so much about yourself and make you a better human if you stick with it, I promise ❤️

Ask Rudy how many times we messed this up today 💕💕

I can never say enough how lucky I am to have been able to turn my passion into a career. But horse training for a living is full of challenges. The heat, the cold, the bruises and blisters, the self-doubt, and endless hours in your own head trying to figure out how to improve the horses. But when I close my eyes at night, I’m proud of the fact that I’m producing safe horses for people who love them. That the owners have the confidence in my honesty and dedication to believe me when I tell them the horse is safe. There’s always room to improve my training and I’m committed to that, but watching people overcome their fears and challenges is what keeps me motivated ❤️

Meet Mocha and Kathryn Seely Todd! Mocha is pretty bossy and Kathryn is helping Mocha pay attention to her and listen to her body language. Kathryn has made huge improvements in managing a horse on the ground and Mocha is turning into a solid, reliable citizen.

Being able to back a horse on the ground builds a foundation for success in the saddle and more confidence for both horse and rider. I’m excited to see where these two go 💕

Ride 21, first day in the snaffle. Getting to be with Rudy since he was colt, building that trust in our many hours of groundwork, has made this part so easy! 💓❤️💓

The balance of respect, leadership and fairness are the keys to success with a difficult horse. Rosie is hard. Rosalind had already made tons of progress before I showed up today, but Rosie was pinning her ears, bucking on the line, and acting aggressively. Through a balance of patience, leadership and appropriate boundaries, Rosalind made huge strides with Rosie today, even being able to lead her past “her” gelding. Rosie was grateful for the connection and relaxed and happy with her place in the herd. Well done Rosalind 💕💕
