A heart-wrenching but important message from our team.

Our pets, whether big or small, depend upon us for food, safety, affection, and care. If we can no longer provide that, it’s our responsibility as the pet owner, to rehome or surrender to a credible rescue organization.

PLEASE do not shame the previous owner of this little one. We do not know the circumstances surrounding this situation. When we know better, we can do better. Kindness matters.

If you are in need of small animal rescues, a quick search online yielded quite a few including our friends at and many others.

The hedgehog was alive in this photo. A good samaritan brought him to us in a frenzy. His condition was too far gone. As far as why this was posted, to educate the public. To share his story. To share what kind of situations we find ourselves in. To provide resources to others who may need it

Hedgehogs are not native to TX. He was likely an abandoned or escaped pet. One of our volunteers was willing to take this little one in but he was too far gone. He passed shortly after this photo was taken.

Whew that's a wrap on female rat adoptions for now......we'll hold a tentative spot, but there's a potential for a wait on girls through mid February for spring babies. We breed rats quarterly and only once all our babies find homes. We are small scale and offer only the best pet rats from proven backgrounds. 🫶 We appreciate all the interest. We are holding off on new application pre-screening until Monday so that we can catch up with all existing applications!

The safe wait time is over! Babies are Thriving and I feel comfortable pre-screening and accepting deposits for our waiting list I have over a dozen applications to get to from as far back as July I cannot thank you guys enough for all your patience. I will reach out starting tomorrow in the order applications were received
