Comfort for Your Cat During Surgery 🥰

When your cat comes in for a spay or neuter, they’ll be waiting for their surgery in their carrier. Make their visit a little cozier by adding a soft towel or blanket inside, it helps keep them comfortable and gives them a familiar scent to ease their nerves.

A little comfort goes a long way in making your feline friend feel safe during their visit. ❤

Last week during Maki Mondays, our volunteer Charlie reached out asking if we could help get their pet and a few of their neighbors’ pets vaccinated. Our outreach team and Dr. Maki were happy to step in.

We stopped by their apartment building and ended up vaccinating six pets completely free of cost thanks to this program. The best part was that the pets were so excited to be out and meeting new friends that they barely noticed they were getting their yearly vaccinations.

This is what community care looks like: neighbors looking out for one another and their pets too. ❤️

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who made PRCKC's 1st Annual Mutts & Movies such a special night. To all of the amazing vendors, nonprofit friends, our dedicated volunteers & staff and every supporter who showed up!

Every dollar raised will go directly to helping pets who need us most, giving them the care and second chances they deserve. Looking for a volunteer experience where you can make a big impact on your community?

We’ve got the perfect event for you, volunteer at one of our upcoming Drive-Thru Vaccination Clinics!

These events bring affordable, essential vaccinations to 150+ pets in just a few hours, and they’re growing fast! As demand increases, we need more volunteers to keep up. Without enough helping hands, we risk having to turn pet owners away.

There’s a role for everyone! Volunteer tasks include:
🚗 Directing traffic
📝 Providing customer service
📦 Giving out pet food and supplies
💉 Prepping vaccinations
🐶 Escorting pets to and from vehicles
…and more!

Whether you're a people person, a dog wrangler, or just eager to help, we'd love to have you on our team!

Scrat came to us from our friends at KCK Animal Services in rough shape. He was emaciated, losing his fur, and battling an upper respiratory infection. Our urgent care team worked hard to nurse him back to health, and is getting better every day!

He’s thriving in his foster home, enjoying all the luxuries a cat could dream of. Plenty of kibble, treats, pets, and a safe, loving space to call his own.

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteer Paula for fostering Scrat and giving him the love he’s been missing for far too long. ❤

Help us officially welcome Dr. Grace Wilson to the PRCKC veterinary team!

Dr. Wilson joined us after graduating from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine (Go Cats! 💜) and completing an internship at Humane Colorado in Denver, where she focused on community and shelter medicine. During that time, she discovered her passion for surgery and expanding access to veterinary care.

She’s already hit the ground running and is doing an amazing job caring for pets and their people here at PRCKC. 💙 We’re so excited to have her on our team and be sure to give her a warm welcome when you see her around the clinic or drop a hello in the comments below!
