Yes he asked to bring the cat home with us.
No we didn’t bring it home.

At first all I could think about was what if he bites my son. Or what if he gives him ringworm. Then I saw them together and my heart exploded. I love this kid and his big heart.

The cat looked well fed and happy… but it sure was hard leaving this handsome orange cat in Punta Cana. 💙

It was quite a day yesterday. A surgery I’ve done hundreds of times ended up having a complication, and I happened to be on family vacation.

I’m so thankful for the team for caring for this patient. I’m so grateful for Dr. Gelber for coming in to do surgery. Shout out to Fort Worth for overnight hospitalization.

Everyone came together as a team to help this pet! Now it’s back to beach and family fun time! 💕

I don’t miss in house glucose curves at all!

Using a Continuous Glucose Monitor allows for more accurate readings, and is less stress on the pet.

We apply the CGM device with a little skin glue on the edges to keep it in place. They usually last a free weeks and the data is transmitted to the pet guardians phone. We can also video the glucose readings through a website link and make recommendations for diabetes treatment.

I use to worry they wouldn’t work well, but I find application fairly straightforward, and the pet guardians appreciate the up to date glucose levels.

Once we are happy with the pets insulin protocol and dose, we discontinue the CGMs.
