With a heavy heart, I must announce that I am no longer available in the Zona Rosa Kansas City, Missouri area. It has been a pleasure to connect with families in the west northland and I truly will miss you and your fur babies!

On the bright side, I have relocated! Once settled, I will start taking on clients in my new serviceable area! Details to come ✨

Please make sure to put paw wax on your dogs paws before going outside - if you can’t put your hand on the surface for more than 30 seconds, it’s too hot for their paws.

Chuck is suffering from severe burns on his paws because he was not used to the heat. We even thought we were okay because other dogs were running around fine. Every dog is different - however, don’t think your dog is exempt from this. His paws are peeling and he hardly walks on them. The vet said it will take over 2 weeks for him to feel relief and has him on pain meds and antibiotics. His paws have to be rinsed 2-3 times a day.

When the temp is 75 degrees out, the asphalt can get up to 125 degrees. 🔥 🔥 🔥
Please be careful with your fur baby. 🐾

☀️ Summer is here! ☀️

🐾 Dogs' paw pads can burn on hot pavements. As a general rule, if it's too hot for your hand it's too hot for their paws.
At 77 degrees outside, asphalt in the sun has been measured at 125 degrees! 🔥
At 86 or 87 degrees outside, and asphalt can sizzle your skin (or your pet's paws) at 135 to 143 degrees! 🔥 🔥 🔥

Watch for symptoms of dehydration and heatstroke:

Panting
Drooling
Rapid heart rate
Very red or pale gums
Disorientation
Muscle tremors
Vomiting and diarrhea (possibly with blood)
Unconsciousness

⚡️TIP - If it's too hot for the usual long walk, keep your dog mentally stimulated by doing some brain games instead. 🎾
