• ☀️Hello to all of our new followers & friends! Please take time to read this post and feel free to ask me any questions. •
Puppy placements follow this ideal: I want to know homes and what each seeks far BEFORE puppies are born. Our homes come from a pre-approved pool, so applications are required.
Thus, I will know what to watch for as each puppy develops, and what will/will not work for each home. I do not focus on conformation alone; l weigh in temperament, workability, sociability, and other factors. I am the one to match puppies based on what I observe over weeks, not what you see from a photo.
I plan for a slight excess of homes, assuming certain ones just won’t work out with what I get. Each is made aware in advance that there is a chance I may not have something to place with them, based on fit. That is a condition these nice families accept, knowing that I do my due diligence.
I can be confident that for an average-sized litter, every puppy will have a place to go. I will not have any sitting around waiting for a home at the cost of losing its extra socialization/learning window with a family.
I am not an excessive title-chaser or win-bragger. I breed hoping to learn and improve upon my own dogs, one step at a time. This means hoping that one, maybe even two very nice puppies from a litter can be shown successfully. I don’t care if this turnover is every few years, as long as the process is meaningful and productive.
If those wins do not happen, in the end, that’s okay in my book. That is because each dog will be adored in its home. I will have made families happy. That’s why dogs are in our lives in the first place… or that is how it SHOULD be! 🐾
End philosophy. 💛
