My journey in lead making started on the sidelines noticing how many of my friends' leads were worn out or just generally poor quality. So, I made it my mission to bring them better leads that would last. I have been taught by seasoned braiders of 10+ years and have formulated the best combination of their techniques to bring the quality my leads have reached today and ever learning and improving.

All of my leads are hand braided by me in my home studio made from premium, imported Australian kangaroo leather lace that is split and beveled for a smoother finish, pre-stretched for a tighter braid and minimal stretch overtime (although all leads will stretch some over the years, it is the nature of the hide), and then conditioned with a quality beeswax based conditioner all prior to braiding. However, the core I use is a high quality, low-stretch braided Dacron line of IFGA rated either 130lb or 200lbs and it will not damage your lead from the inside out. Most of my leads feature artisan lampwork glass beads hand selected and purchased directly by me from artists all over the world. Once completed your lead is rolled out on a marble tile for buttery softness in your hands and then finished with a high quality Lederbalsam for lasting protection and shine. Most common are custom leads, I collaborate with you, the buyer, to bring your vision to life and to put together something truly unique for you and your dog. The second are what I call Pop Up leads, these are semi-custom leads where I choose a bead set and colors to compliment them posting them as available and the buyer gets to decide final length, finishing options, and a few other factors. Lastly, Myself and 2 other quality lead makers have formed the group Top Notch Artisan Show Lead Market where I will occasionally have premade leads available for those shoppers who love convenience! Okay, guys. I had planned to make this post tomorrow on a happy note that I would be taking orders full time again, but now the situation has turned dire.

This is my best boy, Sumo, and he needs immediate vet attention due to a suspected blockage. I lost my job at the end of November and my meager savings has been exhausted. I’m at a loss of what to do, as I was denied for Care Credit.

If you or anyone you know would like a lead made by me, please get in touch with me ASAP. My books are wide open.

Most of you know I’ve had an incredibly hard couple years and your continued support means the world to me. He is the happiest, silliest boy and he means everything to me. Thank you.

I’m sad to make this post, but I wanted to let everyone know that I will be closed for custom orders for the foreseeable future.

I’m really struggling to adjust and keep to my timelines between the move, renovating the new house (half my life is still in boxes still and I’m confined to my bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen) AND a new job where I now work 12 hour shifts.

I just don’t feel on the top of my game and it’s not fair to you guys. If we have talked about a custom order recently or you’re waiting for yours, I will be finishing those out. Just please be patient with me, I’m trying my best.

Welcome to Odyssey Show Leads

My shop has very humble beginnings.

I have been tagging along helping friends ringside for the past 4 years and the one thing I noticed the most was how worn out my friends’ show leads were, so I made it my mission to bring them better leads that would last. I have been taught tried and true techniques by seasoned braiders of 10+ years and I have formulated the best combination of these techniques to bring the quality my leads have reached today.

All leads are made of premium Australian imported kangaroo leather that is split and beveled, conditioned, and stretched prior to braiding around a strong Dacron line core and often feature artisan lampwork glass beads hand selected and bought directly by me from artists all over the world. A final condition to the lead and then I roll it out for buttery softness in your hands.

I mainly do custom leads, collaborating with you, the buyer, to bring your vision to life and put together something truly unique for you and your dog. I will occasionally have premade leads available for those shoppers who love convenience! Prices vary on length of the lead, the bead set you chose, as well as other factors.
