Iron Creed Farm We are a local, family operated urban farm in Kansas City, Kansas. Iron Creed Farm is your local urban farm seated on eight acres in Kansas City, Kansas.

We focus on bring fresh mushrooms and other seasonal produce to our community while staying grounded in our beliefs and farming practices. We specialize in growing gourmet mushrooms that we cultivate here on our farm. Throughout the year we will be offering seasonal mushrooms along with our constant crop of Oyster and Lion’s Mane mushrooms every week. In addition to our fresh mushrooms we will be

adding season crops as we expand our farm so that we can bring fresh, healthy, and local produce to our community. Our farm is family owned and family ran. Meet the Iron Creed Farm crew, My name is Jason Peterson, Kimberly Peterson is my beautiful wife and we are the farm owners. We have been married for ten years and have dreamed of owning and operating an urban farm that we can utilize to teach our two young sons sustainable living practices and how to be good stewards to our land and community. Our sons Joseph and Benjamin are the life of the farm. They bring laughter and joy to our days and remind us constantly that even as busy as life gets we need to slow down and not miss out on what is right in front of us. Along with our passion for growing and eating healthy produce, we have a love for Christ that we know with out Him our story would be much different! On our farm a handshake is as strong as Iron and our Creed is rooted deep in the Lord.

Hello all. With the changing of the seasons we have very limited stock right now and are changing up how we sell. We do have the stand open with a few things today, but from here on we are looking at taking orders. We will update with a fresh list and set up times for you to pick up your order.

This week, we have a few red tomatoes, onions, some butternut squash, and we will fresh harvest salad greens, beets, and radishes when ordered.

We will have mushrooms back in stock soon.

Thank you for your patience as we learn how to make this farm work for our family. We can not tell you how much we love and appreciate our supporters.

While we're saddened by the end of the summer growing season, we are happy to be back open today with some beautiful and delicious fall crops. We only have a couple watermelons and cantaloupe left, but plenty tomatoes and peppers. And did someone say butternut squash and radishes??? Come and get some while supplies last! Don't forget to pick up some fresh salad mix while you're here. We can't wait to see you!

We love aviation on this farm. We are always running out the door when we hear a military plane or anything of that sort. This little boy especially loves them. We are blessed to be in a good fly zone with lots of planes constantly flying over to either airport. After finding out what the airshow was today, we were even more thrilled. Thank you to all of those who helped pull together a great show for children with special needs. You are all amazing!

Sneak peak at one of our upcoming crops here on the farm. As the summer crops slowly remind us that the seasons end is inevitable and time most definitely moves on, we can look to what fresh beauty comes with the changes of temperature and the falling of leaves. Happy Saturday and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our very own, Jason! He had to work outside of the farm today so for his birthday we are going to stay open until 7PM today for anyone who wants to come wish him a happy birthday. He will be home from around 5PM-7PM.

Did someone say heirloom watermelons? We have 3 varieties available. Crimson Sweet, Sugar Baby, and the picnic favorite Charleston Grey. We also have the sweet Sorbet watermelons available again this week.

It's been a busy couple of days here at the farm getting ready for tomorrow. Joseph even gave Ben a lesson on w**d eating. Our stand will be open from 9AM- 5PM rain or shine. We have watermelons, eggplant, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, patty pan squash, some cantaloupe, cucmbers and a limited supply of yellow zuccini, onions and peppers. We loved getting to see everyone that stopped by last week, hoping to see some new faces at the stand tomorrow.

Unfortountly due to the nature of time demand for growing both field crops and our gourmet mushrooms, we are currently only offering our field crops in limited supply for the time being. And the results are .... spoons across the board! It is hard to think deep snow might be coming our way this year with high temperatures in the mid 70s today. Nevertheless the boys are dancing with joy and cheering for spoons! The closest thing to snow we have right now are these beautiful lion’s mane mushrooms which look a lot like snowballs at a glance! According to folklore, when you take a seed from a ripe fruit off a persimmon tree and crack it open it will reveal a shape inside the seed. When the shape revealed looks like a fork, it will be a mild winter. If you see a spoon, you can anticipate a deep snow, and if it shows us a knife, winter will be cold and brutal “cutting like a knife.”
Checking seeds from the persimmon trees on our farm has has become somewhat of a farm tradition here at Iron Creed Farm. Check back tomorrow to see what the seeds tell us about our winter to come.
