Welcome to THE PAWFECT TOUCH 💓
Each and every experience, I give my all.
As a young child, I always have had a “way” with dogs … or just animals…even some insects. I’ve always considered it a “gift”.
With a total of 16 years of experience of working with dogs…. From volunteering at the humane society to becoming a bather… then a groomer… something I’ve learned:
Dogs experience the world very differently than we do. They rely heavily on their senses, and those senses are much more heightened than ours. Everything they see, hear, smell, and feel is amplified, which is one reason grooming can be overwhelming for some pups.
🐾 Our tone of voice matters at all times matter.
Dogs pay close attention to how we speak to them. A calm, reassuring voice can make all the difference.
Sometimes a solid firm voice is needed.
🐾 Body language and energy matter.
Dogs are experts at reading us. They pick up on our emotions, confidence, patience, and even stress levels. Which is why we need to pay attention to their body language as well.
🐾 Touch matters.
From our hands to our brushes and combs, to the vibration of the clippers, every sensation is something they experience and react to.
🐾 Scent matters.
A grooming salon is filled with smells—other dogs, shampoos, cleaning products, perfumes, and the scent of unfamiliar people. While everything used is safe for pets, it’s still a lot for them to process.
🐾 Hearing matters.
Dogs can often hear you before your car even pulls into the parking lot. Add in barking dogs, conversations, clippers, and the sound of a high-velocity dryer, and it can become a very busy environment for sensitive ears.
That’s why patience, understanding, and building trust are so important to me. Every dog deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard. Some dogs walk through my door full of confidence, while others need a little extra time and reassurance—and that’s okay.
There is nothing quite like watching a nervous dog slowly relax, lean into your touch, wag their tail, or willingly walk back to you because they know they’re safe. Those moments remind me why I do what I do.
Earning a dog’s trust isn’t something I take for granted. It’s a privilege, and one of the most rewarding parts of being a groomer. ❤️🐾
I enjoy seeing them relaxing while their sibling is getting groomed…
I truly love what I do. It’s a PASSION, CALLING, GIFT AND ART 💓🐾💓
