Our dear friend Kerri passed away suddenly from heart failure. She was such a great friend & helped us so much with our Sanctuary. Incredibility talented, she designed our logo's, set up our website & FB page. Kerri moved to Cedar after losing the love of her life Bobby. She & her dog Lulu lived with her beautiful daughter Sunny & family. She planned to build on her property...but she was meant to come visit our 1877 Victorian. I knew as soon as she came in she was home. She bought the house & loved decorating, cooking & having friends & family over. A true treasure & dearly loved. Seen here on our back porch in Panguitch...had a great time!

From our grantees at Perseverance Ranch Equine Rescue Sanctuary

About 5yrs ago we were asked to take Newt because they were moving out of state. We were told he was about 40yrs old, later our vet said more like mid 20's.

He's a very quirky boy & lives with Festus, our oldest donkey. He gets along well with horses but our other donkeys don't accept him in their family. Otis, our youngest donkey is trying to make friends. Hopefully he can teach Newt how to calm down & fit in, looks good so far. He's very sweet & loves his Dad! Thanks to Doris Day Animal Foundation for helping feed our "Kids"

Met a fun couple who LOVE donkeys! Brett & Alesandra were camping in the area & came for a visit. Of course Cliff & Homer had to be in the shot. Joie (mini donkey) has become Mr Meet & Greet. He was quite a handful when he first came & now he loves to visit. He's 27 now & has only 3 teeth. His tongue gets a little crispy sometimes but it doesn't effect his appetite. Lakota (paint) in the background is 34. Had a great time & all the "Kids" say thank you for your donation, it really helps🫏

From our grantees at Perseverance Ranch Equine Rescue Sanctuary

Several years ago Best Friends Animal Society called us about a donkey being dumped way up in the mountains behind Zion National Park. Armed only with a truck/trailer & binoculars, we're driving around a million acres looking for one little guy...behold Milo!!! We got back to the ranch & everyone knew there was a new man in town. He let out a holler that even Andy (Clydesdale) came running out of the barn. Gelded two days later he's the sweetest most loving guy that will follow you anywhere. Here he is waiting for Santa.

Merry Christmas & A Very Happy New Year! We're so grateful & excited to receive a wonderful grant from the Doris Day Animal Foundation (DDAF) for $10,000!!! It will really help with medications, vet bills & feed. So blessed to have our "Kids" they deserve a happy life.🥰 Festus (our oldest) wanted to play Santa this year.

Merry Christmas to all & a big thank you to Shannon Bolin, Janice Bailey & Betty Colston for their wonderful donations. Betty is always there to help, from helping me try to figure out the computer to doing our monthly reports. A true gem! Here's Dreamer & Winnie waiting for Santa.

The holidays are a special time when we count our blessings and connect with those who mean the most -- a time to tell you how grateful we are for your support and to share the impact your donations have had this past year.

In 2024 we have granted almost $600,000 to animal welfare organizations across the country, making it possible for them to directly help thousands of animals and the people who love them. Our reach goes far beyond our beloved 4-legged companions, such as dogs, cats and horses, encompassing care and rehabilitation of wildlife, marine mammals, chimpanzees saved from laboratory testing and many more. The emergency funding we provide during the ever-increasing natural disasters, such as wildfires and hurricanes, enables our grantees to spring into action and provide assistance to the affected animals and their families.

As you can see, when you support DDAF, your impact is far-reaching. If you haven't made your 2024 donation yet, or wish to make an additional year-end tax-deductible contribution, we would be most grateful. Don't know what to get your loved ones? A donation to DDAF in their honor makes a great, meaningful gift! Simply select "Dedicate this donation" on DDAF's Donation Page and enter the recipient's name and email address. We will be sure to notify them of your thoughtful gift.

Like Doris, we consider our supporters our friends and family. You are part of her legacy to make this a better world for the animals, and we couldn't carry on the important work she started without you. So, as another year comes to a close, we thank you with all our hearts on behalf of the precious animals and wish you a joyous holiday season and a blessed, peaceful New Year.
