💫Lucy and Goosey💫
A beautiful bonded pair searching for a loving family to call their own.
They were picked up together as strays in Genesee County and brought to the very over crowded shelter there. Their family never came looking for them.😢
After 3 weeks trying to get them adopted together the shelter decided they needed to seperate them to increase their chances of getting adopted. Our rescue decided to transfer them into our care and keep them together no matter what.
They are male and female. We do not know what their exact relationship is but there is a very deep bond between them. Both are approximately 5 years old with no known health issues.
⚖️ They are approx. 45 lbs
💉Up to date on vaccines
✂️Spay/Neutered
🐶Microchipped
🚙Great in the car
🦮Easy to leash walk
🥰Very affectionate
These 2 are happy outside playing or snuggling in your lap. They prefer to be side by side at all times.
They become jealous if other dogs come around so best if they are the only pets in the home.
👶🏼Kids 12 and older as we have no history on them
🐱They have not been cat tested
💩They will need some potty reminders as they have been on the run and then in a shelter
🔒A physical fence is a must. Lucy especially loves to explore

November is adopt a senior pet month. Speaking from experience….its the most rewarding thing you can do. Senior pets that have once had a home and then found themselves at a shelter become the most loving, grateful companions once they find a loving home again. Please consider adopting a senior pet from your local shelter. ❤️🐾

And so it begins…
10 beautiful acres in Kalkaska has been purchased for the future home of My Journey Home Dog Rescue.
It will take a village of very dedicated volunteers to rescue, rehab and rehome as many dogs as possible.
The need is so great and the resources are so slim.
We will run on donations, fundraising and a whole lot of love. We will receive no state or federal funding.
Weather will determine how quickly our facility will be built. We will be up and running Summer 2026. We will post progress along the way.

What a wonderful turnout at the first Twin Birch Trunk or Treat event Saturday night! We had a wonderful time meeting everyone and seeing so the adorable kiddies in their costumes. Happy Halloween everyone!
