A classic piece of literature that should have remained fiction. One that is required reading for those who truly believe in preserving freedom.

Remember that nice, normal people have allowed most of the atrocities of the world to occur. I would love to focus on dogs, but sadly, the world around me is one that is a threat to the dogs and humans I love now.

Men and women died to prevent what is happening now and I am so disappointed in my neighbors who cheered this all on. If you cannot see those parallels to the worst of history playing out before your eyes, well, I challenge you to expand your reading list and your world view for a moment beyond your home and family. That is where true compassion and the heart of what should be America lies.

Ironwood is my Up North. I spent my childhood learning about the tribes that have always called Michigan home and their fascinating legends and folklore.

Each time I look at Lake Superior, I think of the brave souls that ventured out onto these Great Lakes and mapped them long before any white dudes ever set foot on their shores.

It's long past the time to spend this day honoring and learning about those Native to our beautiful state - to listen to their generations of wisdom and work together to preserve this place we all love.

Respect. Recognize. Remember. Today we honor the history, culture and contributions of Indigenous peoples.

Yesterday we said goodbye to Piper. We celebrated 16 years with her last week. I will miss her every day for the rest of mine.

We are NOT going back. My grandfather didn't fight for this country against Hi**er to let fascists thrive in America. If you're on the side of someone who pals around with the Klan, you're on the wrong side of history.

My business has always been one focused on compassion and making my community a better place. The fight is not over. Hate will not prevail here.

The people and pets of Iowa and Minnesota need help this week. Lots of people and their animals have been displaced by fast floods. Send help their way if you're able. ✌🏻

Floodwaters have forced people out of their homes in parts of Iowa, the result of weeks of rain. Meanwhile, much of the United States is longing for relief from yet another round of extraordinary heat Saturday.

If you have a few bucks to spare, please send them to the human shelters, animal shelters and wildlife rescues in Portage/Kalamazoo ✌🏻 They could use the extra help right now. Tornadoes means a lot of scared pets who got lost in chaos and some don't have a home to go back to right now ❤️

My family and I are safe from tonight's storm outbreaks, but many of our friends have had their homes and livelihoods damaged in neighboring Portage. Thanks to all the first responders out there right now dealing with the cleanup and keeping everyone safe ❤️

A mysterious illness is spreading in dogs across the country. While no official cases have been reported in Michigan so far, some veterinarians said they are seeing sick dogs that are not responding to typical treatments.
