Maze came from a difficult situation, but that doesn’t have to define who she becomes. While some may see this as simply a way for her to burn energy, our time with her is about so much more than exercise. Every interaction is an opportunity to help reshape how she sees the world around her.
Having a canine fitness coach with a deep understanding of working dogs, canine body language, and dog psychology is essential for success both inside and outside of the gym.
Sometimes progress comes from the smallest details — walking into the gym for the first session without making direct eye contact, sitting quietly at a distance to give her space, or recognizing during tug work that she was uncomfortable with my hands being too close and adapting by adding a leash to the tug so she could engage confidently without feeling pressured.
Yes, we’re here to help Maze channel the excess energy that contributes to her big feelings, but we’re also here to show her that this new world can be safe, fun, and predictable. She doesn’t have to be afraid anymore. She is safe now.
