We have wonderful dogs all line up ready to fly. Anyone going to Seattle or Bay Area? If you have a direct flight on Alaska Air and will let us attach a dog or two to your reservation you can be a lifeline to get them to forever homes. COH Animal Control is flooded with wonderful dogs needing homes and we have them waiting on the mainland. Getting the dogs there takes volunteers who already are flying. If you have friends coming to visit please tell them about the program. Take some Aloha home when they go.

Anyone flying in May to San Jose or have guests coming from the Bay area? Needs to be on Alaska Airlines so we can add a couple dogs to the KOA-SJC flight.
Also we need June and July flights to Seattle.
Please when you make your reservations, even months out, let us know so we can secure dog spots and let our mainland rescue partners prepare foster homes for those dates.

Charlie Brown and Ripley have left the rock and are on their way to Seattle and forever homes. Thanks to new Animal Flying Companions (AFC) Karin & Dennis. Please join us in getting more dogs off to mainland homes. Become an AFC, sponsor a dog ($300 covers all costs and flight) donate leashes, collars, crates, bowls and toys.

Anyone flying Alaska Airlines from Maui to Seattle in the next few months who is willing to have a dog in cargo on their flight? PAWHI only sends dogs from Kona however a wonderful rescue on Maui has some rescued dogs that they need to get to Seattle. These are big dogs that have no chance of a home on Maui yet have potential homes waiting via a terrific rescue partner of ours. Please email

Even during February the pet embargo month we figured out how to get these sweeties booked! A new Animal Flying Companion and her husband are going to take them as carry-on. A carry-on pet counts as your checked bag so to volunteer to take 2 of them is really so special 🥰 Houston and Alice will get forever homes in Seattle.

Fantastic news both Ebony and Davey have been adopted into their forever homes❤️.
Our wonderful friends at Berkeley Humane Society introduced the pups to potential owners, and they left with their new families.
This is how our partnership works, we get animals out of County of Hawaii animal control shelter to mainland rescue partners where they quickly leave with new families. To do this we need our communities help. Volunteer to be an animal flying companion so when you make a trip to the mainland, we can add up Pup to your reservation. Volunteer to pay for one of these rescue flights. It cost $150 to send a crate with one or two pups to the mainland. Volunteer to pay for the veterinarian fees ($210) required to send each Pup. Volunteer to collect supplies, crates towels, leashes, collars, and water dishes for the trip. Volunteer to help spread the word about the program so we can continue to save more animals lives.
