You never realize how big California is until you’ve run to Oregon and Washington three times in a week and a half. 😅
Right now, we’ve got multiple vehicles and teams of drivers doing it all—private runs, rescue runs, adoption deliveries, quarantined runs. The requests keep coming, and we keep switching lanes to bridge the gaps—so rescuers can actually enjoy rescuing again, without the nightmare starting before they even get the pup.
Meanwhile, we’re knee-deep in sanitizing, pressure washing, quarantine protocols, van naps, and just… drive, drive, drive. 🙃 Thank God for hubs and his willpower!!! 💪❤️
And let’s talk about the ugly side—because founders and rescue coordinators feel it every single day. It’s like high school mean girls mixed with keyboard warriors who’ve never stepped foot in a shelter or met a rescue dog, but have plenty of time to stir drama from behind a screen. They beat people down until the joy of rescue feels like a fight to survive.
We have to remember—we’re all on the same team. Same mission, same goals. If we worked together instead of against each other, imagine how much more we could do for the animals.
The good news? I’ve met more good humans lately than I can count… and it’s given me a little bit of my faith in humanity back. ❤️
