We went from sub zero conditions to snow landia. My house is completely surrounded by snow and is inaccessible for the time being. The snow is officially too much for our plow guy’s truck.
That being said, anyone with upcoming appts will need to park at the highway and walk your pets down to the bus.
I will make an update when the driveway is accessible again.

Happy holidays everyone!

The severe cold weather continues here in Juneau, making my grooming studio uninhabitable! I’ve discovered that 15° is about the coldest it can get and still be comfortable on the bus for pets and people.

Any days that are forecast to be under 15° will likely need to be cancelled for the safety of everyone.

The weather has caused me to shut down for 4 days at this point, and with the forecast predicting a cold dry winter, we are likely to see more days where I have to shut down.

This is causing quite a delay in my schedule. All grooms will need to be pushed out to accommodate the appointments I am having to reschedule.

Oh baby it’s cold outside!

So cold that the floor of the bus is FREEZING! I had to cancel all my grooms from yesterday due to the cold. I’m attempting to work through today, however it’s supposed to be EVEN COLDER next week.

There is the very real possibility that I will have to reschedule more appointments. I will work my hardest to get everyone rebooked, but the rest of December is booked solid.

Part of living and working in Alaska is understanding that sometimes the weather does not participate with our existence!

I appreciate everyone’s understanding and everyone’s willingness to rebook.

Due to the uncertainty of my schedule I will not be booking any new appts until after the new year. I’ll start another scheduling list and will get you booked in the order of requests.

Here are a few updates for 2026:

Permanently closed to all new doodles.
Temporarily closed to all new dogs.
Accepting new cat, or rodent clients.

Nail trims are going up to $25 per pet.

No longe offering Saturday appts.

I am switching my day off from Friday to Monday, so I will be moving some appts around to accommodate this. The new schedule will start in February.

Due to the increasing fees associated with credit and debit cards, I will be discontinuing taking them. Payment forms accepted are cash, check, venmo, bank to bank transfer. (Paypal is also charging fees so I will be discontinuing them as well)

In light of the recent drama on Facebook involving a hateful transphobe in town, I feel it’s important to reiterate that we are PRO LGBTQIA+ here, and hatful ideals will get you fired.

If you support trump, please let me know so I can add a 20% fee to your bill.
It’s not fair for your vote to be costing all my clients more when you are the reason we are currently paying tariffs.

If you feel this is unfair please let me know because I have a huge waiting list that I would love to be able to accommodate.
