Not what you want to find......

After covering 2.75 miles of ground on what was believed to be a well-placed shot, it's safe to say the hunter has peace of mind.

Let's hear your thoughts on shot placement?

Bolt was found buried at hit sight, indicating a pass through. Beau found it, but the hunter believed the deer was carrying it. The hunter and his son trailed shortly after the shot due to pending rain and trailed about 80 yards on blood to the timber edge and the deer was standing and took off with no clear signs of injury. Where the deer stood was the last blood as well and all had clear signs of clotting. Tuft of hair was found about 40 yards from hit sight.

We have been putting on some miles! Covering lots of ground and giving a few hunters peace of mind.

Since returning from Texas, Beau has been an ace and made three hunters very happy. Each of these deer were bumped a bit to soon. Luckily none went over 600 yards after being bumped.

And lastly if you remember the buck on video with guts hanging out...., we'll that hunter found his buck on sunday the 26th (shot the 20th). We believe he died within 24hours of being found. Which would mean he survived 5 days post shot!

The last few days have been a little busy. We have taken numerous tracks consisting of a suspected miss, two shoulder shots and a brisket shot. Many times the recovery isn't the outcome but we will always do our due diligence to give the hunters peace of mind.

I will have some other posts dropping soon about some tracks and other interesting things. As for the next four days we will be in Texas on a little vacation before the rut starts. We look forward to assisting in many more recoveries and will be back in Kansas Sunday October 25th.

It’s been a bit of a busy week with life and tracking, but we’ve had some incredible deer harvested as of late.

#10 Yesterday morning, we assisted a youth hunter’s father in recovering her buck after they had tracked approximately 800 yards and bumped the deer while it was still lively. After arriving and starting at last blood, Beau needed about four minutes to get to work and took us another 425 yards to a beautiful buck!

#11 While in Kansas City, I got the call for a deer that had been shot not far from home. The hunter suspected a possible back hit, marked the shot location, tracked carefully, and then made the wise decision to back out at around 75 yards. A great Kansas deer for this young man.

Beau once again made quick work of this track, covering 0.60 miles in just 21 minutes, step for step through some pretty nasty stuff!

We also assisted another hunter in recovering his deer. In this case, we elected to quietly slip in without the dog, make visual contact, and confirm what we hoped to find. It didn’t take long before we located the deer, expired.

Great work by the hunters making smart decisions, and another solid week for Beau! Every track is different, and knowing when to push forward and when to back out can make all the difference. 🦌🐕

Update on the Big Buck:

This one did not turn out like we would have hoped. A gut shot deer is almost always a pretty simple track for a seasoned team. Today proved why I just said "almost".

Two teams, 7 hours and approx 20 miles combined turned up empty. Found 3 different beds and after that, nothing. In five seasons of tracking I can think of maybe two or three like this and they just make you scratch your head.

These deer can and do live for days even weeks but thats extremely rare. We will update this one one way or another!

Well tracking has been a bit slow lately with some everchanging weather and likely some shifting of patterns. We have been staying busy and I was actually able to harvest my 2026 Kansas Buck. It's been three seasons since I tagged out with my bow so it felt great!

#9- We also were able to help a first time hunter recover her first deer. Always great to be apart of awesome moments. Beau was a bit perplexed on this deers size 😬
