Meet Noelle 💛

This sweet 3‑year‑old hound mix has been with us since March, and she’s so ready for her happily‑ever‑after. Noelle is about 40 pounds of pure joy, complete with a little nubbin tail that never stops wagging.

Shelter life is starting to wear on her, but you’d never know it from the video — she loves her frozen enrichment and is always trying to make the best of each day. Noelle is friendly with other dogs, adores every person she meets, and truly just wants a family of her own.

She’s spayed, sponsored (thanks to Clear the Shelter!), and ready to go home today.

🐾 HELP OUR KITTIES BREATHE EASIER! 🐾

Upper respiratory infections are no fun for shelter cats, but a cozy environment makes a huge difference in their recovery! We are currently in need of a few humidifiers to help soothe congestion and keep our sick cats comfortable while they heal.

Right now, Amazon has a Deal of the Day on a large-room humidifier with a washable filter—which would be absolutely PERFECT for our cat spaces! 🐱✨

🐾 Help Us Keep Our Furry Friends Cozy! 🐾

Our cats, kittens, small dogs, and puppies are in need of a little extra warmth and comfort! We are currently running low on small blankets, and we would love your help to restock.

Whether it’s fleece throws, receiving blankets, or small washable blankets, these soft bedding items make a world of difference in helping our smallest shelter pets feel safe, warm, and cozy while they wait for their forever homes. 💙🐱🐶

🐾 LET’S CLEAR THE SHELTERS! 🐾

All August long, Atascosa County Animal Control—with the amazing support of Friends of Atascosa County Animal Control —is participating in the nationwide Clear The Shelters adoption event, powered by NBCUniversal and Telemundo 60 San Antonio!

That means FREE ADOPTIONS for the entire month on all of our available pets! 🐶🐱❤️

We are currently undergoing lobby construction, so we are operating by appointment only to ensure everyone stays safe and has a great visit!

🗓 Hours: Monday – Saturday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

🐾 Huge Success & Food Distribution Update! 🐾

A massive THANK YOU to all of our amazing volunteers and community supporters who made last Saturday’s food distribution event with Friends of Atascosa County Animal Control and DaisyCares such a success!

A special thank you to County Commissioners Mark Gillespie (Precinct 1) and Joe Eustace (Precinct 4) for coming out to volunteer and helping distribute food directly to our community members. We truly appreciate your leadership and hands-on support! 🙌

Together, we were able to serve 135 families and distribute approximately 9,450 lbs of food to support Atascosa County's four-legged friends! 🐶🐱❤️

Need pet food assistance? We still have supplies available!

Daisy Cares left us with several large bags of dog food and boxes of wet cat treats to ensure they get to local pet owners who need them most.

🚗 Unable to pick up? If you are in need of assistance but don't have a way to make it to us, please give us a call anyway! We will do our best to work with you and get food to your pets.

🐾 DONATION URGENT NEED: Cats, Kittens & Clean Dishes! 🐱🍽️

Our shelter is running critically low on two items we use every single day to keep our animals healthy and our facility clean! Because of how many furry friends we care for daily, we go through these supplies fast and our shelves are almost empty.

Can you help us restock? Here is what we need most right now:

✨ L-Lysine Supplement (Powder, Chews, or Gel)

Why we need it: Lysine is essential for boosting our cats' and kittens' immune systems and keeping upper respiratory bugs at bay—especially in a shelter environment where little noses need extra support!

✨ Dishwasher Pods

Why we need it: We wash dozens of food bowls, water dishes, and enrichment toys every single day. Dishwasher pods keep our sanitizing machines running smoothly so every pet gets a squeaky-clean dish at mealtime!

📦 How to donate:
