MEMORIES: CHELSEY
Chelsey is wonder woman! Truly. She juggles being a wife, a mother to 4, a friend to so many, and a highly skilled professional at work. She manages our holistic grooming wing and she steps in to oversee the facility and the staff in my absence. Sometimes I'm in wonder and amazed at how she does it all so well.

It was October 2012 when I met Chelsey for the first time and interviewed her. She had worked as a veterinary nurse and then became a groomer, just like me. I could tell right away that her connection with dogs, well.. all animals really, was just as strong as mine. She had worked for several different grooming places, including one of the big box chains, and she was looking for someplace where she could really put the welfare of the dogs first, without the pressure to rush through and just get the groom done. She was interested in learning holistic grooming techniques and open to a new way of doing things. Thankfully, we connected and Chelsey has been the heart and soul of our operation for over a decade now.

For the past 13 years Chelsey has mirrored the quality of care, attention to detail, and high standards that I myself have always strived for with The Pines' care of people's pets. Her #1 priority has always been and will always be the ultimate care and wellness of every animal that steps through our doors. We would not be where we are today without her!

Chelsey, thank you for all the years of hard work, dedication, loyalty, and pursuit of excellence. Thank you for always being there to support others, for caring so deeply, and for simply being you. You are beautiful inside and outside and we are so thankful for you every single day!

MEMORIES: ROBERTA
Roberta reached out in response to a groomer for hire ad I placed on Craigslist in June of 2013. She wrote to me from Illinois with a plan of moving to this area of Texas. Her letter and resume stood out. She was looking for an upscale, high-quality salon where the dog comes first! Her resume stated, "I have always said that I work for the "dog"(not the human)." She was also interested in holistic grooming and learning new techniques even though she had already been a professional groomer for 22 years! She certainly was unique and I was eager to meet her. We set up a meeting with a test groom for July of 2013 and she flew down here. The meeting and test groom went great and I hired her! It was one of the best decisions I've ever made for The Pines.

Roberta has been one the most gracious, loyal, dedicated, kind, generous, hard working, talented women I've ever known and we are so fortunate she chose us! She's beautiful inside and out. Not only is she wonderful with dogs, she's a designer and has an artist's eye. She's been with us for 12 years now and incredibly, she's never called in sick. Not even once. Not even a half day.

Roberta, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for being you and for all your hard work and dedication over the years. You are sunshine, and we love you so much!

MEMORIES: Rebecca was a fantastic part of our team from 2021 through 2023. During her time with us, she learned to function in every part of our facility, from daycare, to grooming, to overseeing our boarding guests and being Lead Pet Care Attendant. When she graduated in her studies, and moved on to intern in her chosen field of political science, we knew we’d miss her but still see her often with her dogs Boi & Seaver! And that has remained true! Boi & Seaver are regulars for grooming as well as weekly doggie daycare! Seaver even won last year’s Halloween Costume Contest (Rebecca has always hand-crafted and made their own costumes!). We are grateful for Rebecca, her continued support of us, and the trust she places with us in caring for Boi & Seaver!

REBECCA’S MESSAGE:
When I first started working at The Pines, I didn’t have any dogs of my own—but that didn’t last long. Before I knew it, I had adopted Seaver and, not long after, Boi. They came with me to daycare in the morning, tails wagging with excitement. I’m grateful that our drive is so short—Seaver can barely contain herself the moment she realizes where we’re headed (usually before we even leave the house). I feel confident when I drop them off, knowing that they’re not only going to a place they love, but one I know inside and out: clean, safe, and staffed by people I trust. That they’re in the hands of a team who loves them almost as much as I do—because I was once part of that team. I know the heart, dedication, and strict cleaning protocols (it may never be said that the Pines skimps on cleaning) it takes, and that the Pines has it in spades. I know that Melinda only brings on people who truly love the animals entrusted to them, and I am grateful to have been a part of it!

MEMORIES: Leah Renee joined our team in 2020 and worked with us through the end of 2021 when she welcomed the birth of her baby girl! She brought such positivity to our team every day, and her last day was so memorable because it was our Annual Doggie Daycare Halloween Party & Costume Contest! She was dressed as a full bellied Penguin! Leah has continued to bring her German Shepherds, Critter and Elias, to board with us when needed!

LEAH’S MESSAGE: I worked for The Pines Pet Pampering back in 2020/2021 and during my time there I received lots of help learning grooming and how to taking care of people's pets. They showed me a work culture that was rich in compassion for both people and animals. They worked with me and guided me to do the best I could during my time there. I was amazed by the way they treat animals and show genuine care and attention to each animal’s needs. That's why, to this day, I still recommend The Pines Pet Pampering for anyone who's looking for excellent care for their pet!

MEMORIES: Clifton joined us in 2013 and was such a special part of our team for 8 years! As so many of you know, he developed complications due to his type 1 diabetes and ended up moving back to Maryland to be close to his family. He enjoys being a new uncle and spending time with his niece. Although he is on dialysis and recently had brain surgery to remove a tumor, he is such a strong trooper and he continues to be a positive force for all those in his life!

CLIF’S MESSAGE:
I’m not really good at speeches or writing things but I want everyone there to know how much I appreciate them. Everyone treated me like family, especially Melinda and Lonnie who did so much for me and I will always be grateful. I miss seeing everyone and their furry babies every day. Everyone always made me feel loved and appreciated. I will always remember all the great memories I made there. Thank you for everything and your continued prayers.
