Hi humans! My name is Muddy and I am a gray, blue or silver tabby female cat, just 13 weeks old. The humans here call me Muddy because I was found in a box in a backyard with my three siblings and a puppy (who I do not believe I am related to.)

The folks here like me a lot, and gave me the nick name Muddy Buddy. I love to play, cuddle up and sleep and when you least expect it, crawl onto your lap. I give kisses and rubs and cuddles and love to receive the same. Got some toys? I am your kitty. I love to bat them and pounce on them like the mighty hunter I am. I am also partial to soft warm blankets and overstuffed kitty beds.

I am a social kind of gal and look forward to a forever home with a nice bed, good food and humans and animals that love me. I have had all my shots, I've been spayed and I'm ready to go. So fill out an application, come for a visit, and lets start our life's journey together. Since I'm only 13 weeks old, I can be your loving companion for a long time.

Our Story

Golden Paw-Paws with Possibilities Pet Rescue and Care Center is a former for profit business that began in 1998 by Mary Ann Schlau. Paws has changed objectives towards animal rescue and adoption following the experiences in the aftermath of the Joplin 2011 tornado. The need for rescue/reunification services and temporary shelter were never more evident than during the period of recovery. This was the time for transformation for Paws with Possibilities. In 2012, Paws decided to become a licensed rescue and in 2013 achieved nonprofit status as an animal rescue organization and Paws with Possibilities Pet Rescue and Care Center was born.

Paws with Possibilities still operates as a grooming and boarding facility, but now includes animal rescue and adoption. All monies earned/collected go to Paws with Possibilities Rescue for the benefit of the animals in need of rescue and care. Currently there are appoximatley 100 dogs and over 40 cats available for adoption as well as a farm animals that will live out their days in our care.

Our Mission:

Paws with Possibilities is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization in Joplin Missouri. We are dedicated to rescuing animals that are left homeless for a multitude of reasons to include; animals in public shelters where there is a high risk of euthanasia due to over-population, animals given up by their owners due to circumstances beyond their control or those in danger of abuse or neglect.
