A vacation for your dog!

It’s been a busy week. Tucker joined the other guests on Sunday, and since then we’ve had white out snows, 50 mile an hour winds, sunny and 48, rain, and today cloudy after the rains stopped and 57 degrees! Typical Spring Break weather!

But Gracie, Chip, Murphy, Duke, Bella, Bear, Tucker, Maizy and Lola have all been the best quests ever, and well supervised by Dan, Ginger, Sunshine, and our crew. Duke goes home today, a few go home tomorrow and a few others are here for a bit longer. I wonder what the weather will bring!

Spring Break 2023! It’s typical March weather…cloudy, damp and cool, but we don’t care! We have a smaller group this year, by design, and they are all having fun playing together. Duke, Bella, Lola, Bear, Chip, Murphy, Maizy and sweet Gracie. They are all just so sweet, and our own Ginger is upset because she’s not allowed to go play with them. She’s expecting in 3 weeks, so we can’t risk too much bumping around!

Power was restored to us on Thursday evening after a short 30 hours without. We still don’t have internet though, which has been out since before the ice storm, so no pictures of our wonderful guests, but all are doing very well. The kennel stayed fairly warm, and extra blankets and snuggles were passed out to keep everyone cozy.

Rocky, Oscar, Murphy, Chip and Gracie are all just wonderful!

Guests Rylee, Finn, Harper H., Cooper and Harper have been real troupers with the new 8 inches of snow. It’s wet and heavy, but the temps are fairly mild, so they do hang out to play. I will say though, that the sofas indoors are currently their favorite hang outs! (Dan’s too!)

We have some visitors! We actually have had a few lately, but the camera person has been marginally incapacitated with hand issues. A doctor visit, some steroid injections and some PT has gotten me back out there.

Today we had fun with Harper and Cooper, who are a couple of dogs from our breeding program, out in the snow and first sunny day in forever! They are having a great time with our girls, Sunshine, Autumn and Ginger.

We hope that all are having a wonderful holiday. We are grateful for our wonderful guests, some snow cover, rising temps and diminished wind! We have been doing well, but it was nice to be able to get out with a camera today. Cola, Maisie, Blossom, Eva and Bogie have been having a great time together. And as usual…..they love it when Uncle Dan comes out with them.

As we patiently await Santa’s arrival, we want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

We have some guests visiting, and are expecting a few more before the weekend. Right now Blossom, Maisie and Cola are enjoying the warmth of the kennel and some coveted lap time.

Hopefully the weather won’t throw off everyone’s plans, and you will each be spending time with your loved ones. Hugs and kisses to our furry friends! We adore you all.

Thanksgiving is a great time to have so many guests to be thankful for. Cece, Frankie, Bella, Cola, Eva, Harper, Oscar and Louis are enjoying some a-typical weather for late November. They also seem to be enjoying each other’s company, and bring us many moments of much needed laughter and joy

Yesterday was a bitter sweet day as we said goodbye to our own, lovely Stormie. She was almost 13, and had the most wonderful life befitting of an exceptional dog. She was universally loved by us, all of our dogs, and all of our guests. She passed away peacefully last night after spending the day on the front and back decks watching over the family and home she loved. She is missed.

The weather has done a 180, and it is cold and snowy. Guests Cooper, Lola and Bear, really don’t mind too much, but the sofa and football with Dan is their favorite place to be today.

We’ve been busy with our extended family visiting. All of these dogs, with one exception, are puppies from the Headwater’s Retrievers breeding program. The exception is sweet Cooper, and since we have 2 Coopers here, we will call him Mini-Cooper. Having fun with Willow, Stella, Harper, Cooper, Blair, Mozzie and Mini-Cooper. And of course, our Ginger is never far away!

We have guests Lucky, Duke, Willow and Stella staying with us right now enjoying the perfect weather. All but Lucky are pups from our breeding program! Duke, a Hailey pup, spends his time here with our boys, and is pictured with his Uncle Hunter. Willow is a Lightning-Skye pup, and her housemate Stella is a Phoenix-Autumn pup and is just 9 months old.

We were supposed to have two other of our pups here this weekend as well. But Harper and Cooper’s plans were changed when family had to cancel their’s. They called me and told me that their mean mom(😆) took them to be groomed instead! They are not happy because they really wanted to come see Grandma and Grandpa! (Just teasing, Chris!)

We love all of our guests, family or not!
