Our next public event is benefitting Gainesville Rabbit Rescue and it’s coming up next Thursday 5/7! We have a few more spots to fill…. Email [email protected] to join us! They help rescue, rehabilitate, foster, adopt and provide LOVE to bunnies in need. 100% of the money raised goes to this fabulous local rescue that helps rabbits (and other cuties like guinea pigs) find their forever homes. So if you have been interested in attending one of our paint your pet parties, and want to help rabbits, you should definitely sign up! The event host is Earthwise Pet in Jonesville (just outside of Gainesville).

Samm the artist of Painting with a Pit will pre-sketch your pet or animal of your choice on canvas for you, and walk you through the painting process to create your own beautiful portrait! Or you can request a blank canvas and freestyle it. Let us know if you have any questions! GRR does fabulous work and we’d love to help raise a good amount of money to support the life-saving work they do! This is such a great program.

Prisoners serving as dog trainers has gained widespread support and is recognized for its numerous benefits. Learning dog training skills offers inmates an opportunity to develop valuable skills, discipline and empathy.

The interaction between inmates and dogs can contribute to reduced recidivism rates and improved behavior within the prison environment.

In our program here at Lancaster Correctional Institution, the dogs are selected from the local shelter and receive 4-8 wks of basic obedience training and socialization. They live with their inmate handlers 24/7. In addition to learning basic commands they are groomed regularly, potty trained, crate trained and receive flea and heartworm preventative.

When our dogs graduate, they are well on their way to being well-mannered and great dog companions for their new families!

Our Bella has now graduated and ready for adoption ❤️. Adoption fee is $75. Send a message if you would like more information on how to give a well trained shelter pup a second chance 😊
