Jonesborough Days 4th of July Parade! We had so much fun!
JEC made the Channel 11 News! ❤️
JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — Jonesborough welcomed the Fourth of July and the beginning of its 54th annual Jonesborough Days with a parade. People lined up throughout nearly five blocks of Main Str…
My heart cannot contain its joy: My Rikki Bobby, champion to children everywhere, in his oversized stall with new windows and a fan and his stall guard, relaxing next to his best friend in this world.
26 years old this fall, and still giving 110% to his people and keeping the kids safe, honest and fair. An irreplaceable piece of my heart. ♥️
How lucky am I to work with a team of horses so lovely? 🥰
These oversized stalls have always been my least favorite - big enough for the Warmbloods or to foal in, but they felt so dark and dark confining.
Yesterday I grabbed my skill saw and cut in windows - they are social creatures, after all. We love how this turned out: more light and airflow - all good things.
Best part is getting to watch Sunday (17.1 hand Warmblood) and Rikki Bobby (14.1 hand pony), who are best friends, realize they can hang in the shade under their fans, nose-to-nose. ❤️
Thank you to everyone that came to brave the heat today to horse show with us! We were sure grateful for the shade of the indoor today - and the break in the forecasted weather that helped us keep our horses and riders safe! We had a record turn out and the support of 5 local barns as well as numerous independent riders.
A special thank you to our Judge, Ashley Miller and of course, our barn family for pitching in to help us pull it all together!
We’ll be taking the month of July off from our home show series, but we’ll be back with a vengeance on August 24th for the next show in our series! Updated points for Year-Ends will be posting soon!
The tail end of our big weekend home here at JEC - we took the horses swimming today to escape the heat and just had a ridiculous blast. We need a vacation from fun or we might just explode. ❤️
Registration is open for our show next Saturday, June 29!

It was a big night here at JEC and we did all the things. It wasn’t easy cramming this much fun into one night, but we made due. Excellent cookout and bonfire, our first Bingo tournament (next time we play for blood), a moonlight ride in the cross country field, s’mores and now movie night for the Rats.
Biggest flex of the night….conning 6 overnighting kids into setting up in the house so I can sleep in my own bed. ❤️
It’s almost time!! Eeek!
Join us, tomorrow night, Friday, June 21st for our 1st Full Moon Ride and Bingo Tournament!
If you can’t make it, don’t despair: plan to attend next month, July 20(1)!
✅ Bonfire
✅ Cookout
✅ BINGO
✅ Music
✅ Movie night for the kids on the big screen in the indoor arena
✅ Full moon ride
✅ S’mores
$10 cover charge at the gate per person to cover dinner/drinks.

At JEC, we don’t believe in CANCEL, but we do believe in the heat index and the health of our equine and humanoid athletes: THE SHOW WILL GO ON, JUNE 29th at 10am, as planned.
Friday night schooling under lights and overnight stalling available.
Please count on very interesting, modified courses in the shade of the indoor arena and plan to hang out in the alleyways of the barns, in the shade and under fans!
Please bring your water buckets to keep your horses hydrated - we will provide ice cold bottled water to all of our competitors for the day!
The race for the Superhorse and year-end awards is on, let us pursue joy together, responsibly! 💕
We've had to modify our weekend plans and will not be traveling to horse show or to school due to the extreme heat.... which actually allows the window to open for a long-standing Full Moon Ride and barn party dream when it cools off in the evening! ** You must have your own horse to attend the ride, but all are welcomed to the Barn Party!
JEC is hiring for weekday and weekend shifts!
Weekday shift includes cleaning stalls, feeding, watering, daily turn-in/turn-out for our main 27 stall barn. The workload is typically 4-5 hours a day and could be covered as either a morning or evening shift. Applicants must have attention to detail, organization, ability to accept direction and reliable transportation. ** This is not a riding or training position.
Weekend position: we have a very busy traveling schedule with our show team and we trail ride extensively on weekends we aren't horse showing. We're looking for the right person to cover weekend shifts - work will include cleaning stalls, watering, feeding, turn-in and turn-out. ** This is not a riding or training position.
Experience with horses is necessary to apply. Possibility of trading off board/lessons for the right person. Message, call or text (406)596-0875.
Beginnings of 4 new oversized tack lockers, big enough for tack trunks and shelving - which makes room for my private vet room, where I will hoard and look at vet supplies and smell meds. ❤️
The beginning of JEC Barn Rat Headquarters….they have big plans! ❤️
MVF June Clinic photo dump! 💕
No better way to spend a day off than getting up with the sun to prepare and haul a bunch of Barn Rats to our clinic day at MVF! 💕
I just saw this quote: “To truly love a horse is something we cannot teach.”
This is SO true! We can love how the horse makes US feel, we can love to relax, find peace, maybe love to compete, to win, to improve….but to truly love the horse - that is not teachable, it’s just in the blood. ❤️
Awesome ride to Phipps Bend today followed by an impromptu cookout with campfire and live music for the barn peeps this evening! 💕
❤️
Ridiculous summer fun at Thursday night lessons. ❤️
Food truck night after lessons! 😍
Our little Jazz is growing up and ready for her next rider! Her is FANCY! So fun to see her go with a new set of hands today! ❤️

Turn your volume up! Sometimes, when I’m too afraid to look, I listen to the cadence! Sound, sound. ❤️ This was Whiskey’s first official hand walk since her injury/surgery and the receipt for your kindness! She is one loved and lucky gal. 🙏
I have to admit….I was a little concerned about the abundance of joy at the hand gallop…but Simon the Awful came right back down. ❤️ Happy ponies today, working out of the arena. 💕
Have you ever seen a 17.1 hand monster limbo to come check to see what the hold up is on his breakfast alfalfa?!? We had to set up a camera to catch him, and yes, he knew it was there!! 😂🤷♀️
It’s LOIS, the comeback kid, back in action! Cooking a Warmblood baby and taking names. Toughest mare in the world. ❤️
Two of our 10 and 12 year old students started schooling on lead changes and understanding the similarities of the lead change and landing leads today….. ……after a phenomenal lesson, I asked them if they learned anything as they left the arena to cool off together down the road. They both agreed, no knowledge gained today. 😂😂 We’re sneaking up on them, stealth mode style. ❤️
It’s almost SHOW TIME!! 10pm, finishing schooling, dragging the indoor and outdoor and setting courses and we’re ready! Gates open at 8am, show starts at 10am, sharp! ❤️
Our work to become like the Spanish Gaucho has begun, with an end goal of cantering perfect circles with our poles set…… …..or the goal might have been to desensitize our ponies and work on our horsemanship. It might have been to give the girls a little distraction from the hard work they’ve been putting in. It might have been to make them giggle for a minute. ….no matter the goal, we’re on a quest. ❤️
