We wrapped up our busiest season with a much-needed team retreat! ❤️🐾

There were thrills, relaxation, lots of laughs, and even more memories made. After countless long hours, busy days, and so many pets helped and lives saved, this crew deserved every minute of it!

So thankful for this Cato Pet Hospital family and all they pour into our patients and clients every single day. Now we’re rested, recharged, and ready for what’s next! 🐾❤️

🐊 BREAKING NEWS: Another Gator was found in Cash… 🐊

Don’t panic—this one’s much safer than the ones that end up in the river.

Meet Gator. Someone dumped him in Cash, and when he was found he was covered in sores, severely underweight, and in desperate need of help. But look at him now…

He’s left that chapter behind and is ready for the one he’s been waiting for: a forever family.

This goofy boy is about 1.5–2 years old, weighs 25–30 pounds, and should fill out to around 35–40 pounds. He’s the perfect medium-sized companion with an even bigger heart.

✨ Heartworm negative
✨ Neutered
✨ Dog friendly
✨ Cat friendly
✨ Kid friendly

His favorite hobbies include collecting snuggles, making new friends, and convincing you that your couch belongs to him.

To help him get started in his new home, he’ll come with 6 months of flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

A veterinary reference is required for adoption because this sweet boy has already been let down once, and we want to make sure his next home is his forever home.

Gator proved that a rough start doesn’t define the rest of your story. Now all he needs is someone willing to write the happy ending. ❤️

Did you catch our very own Dr. Owens on the news at 6:00 tonight? 📺🐾

Ironically, immediately after the interview, we treated two pets for heat exhaustion. With temperatures this high, it doesn’t take long for a pet to get into trouble.

☀️ Know the warning signs:
• Excessive panting
• Bright red or pale gums
• Drooling
• Weakness or stumbling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Collapse or seizures

🐶 If you think your pet is overheating:
• Move them to a cool, shaded area immediately.
• Wet them with cool (not ice-cold) water, focusing on the paws, belly, and groin.
• Use a fan if available.
• Offer small amounts of cool water if they’re alert.
• Head to your veterinarian immediately—even if they seem to improve, heat stroke can continue causing internal damage.

The best treatment is prevention. Avoid exercise during the hottest parts of the day, always provide shade and fresh water, and never leave a pet in a parked vehicle.
