This is beautiful feline is named MK. In Dr. Adam's head, she is named after the CIA's MKUltra program. But whereas that CIA program over a course of 20 years used copious amounts of L*D and psychological & physical torture to brainwash people during the Cold War -- because reasons -- MK brainwashes you by being sweet and affectionate.

We are holding onto her for the 4 Stray Paws rescue that we work with. She is best as an only animal in the house, but is good with kids. She has a curious quirk where her jaw sometimes drops and her mouth is open, but we haven't found any reason why that may be and she has been healthy otherwise.

She might be able to get along with a polite male cat in the house, but your mileage may vary on that.

You can contact the clinic or 4 Stray Paws Ltd to schedule a meet & greet.

Let me tell you guys, today has been a real day.

Now there is always the question of how long the clinic's page is going to continue here because this platform no longer has the relevance it did 10 years ago. It is, however, relevant for this:

There are some of you out there who really need to check their behavior as clients.

Today was an incredibly hectic day. One so hectic, I didn't really get to have lunch. And this afternoon was spent dealing with overflow appointments AND a serious emergency in a cat. Meanwhile, there were several clients dumbfounded that I as a single doctor -- and you all know I am a single doctor here -- couldn't get back to their specific phone calls. They then repeatedly called wondering why I couldn't give them individual time instantly.

Look, I know I am the vet in town with the most rizz & drip, but I and my staff can only do so much. You aren't going to pull me away from a cat that needs a coffee mug's worth of fluid sucked out of its chest to live just so we can chat. You call your doctor for a follow up, they want you to schedule an appointment; or you have to wait 24-48 hours to get an answer. I am just asking you to wait until the end of the day.

And you better believe that I and many other vets know that the language and tone you use with us is often different from the tone you address our staffs with. And I have fired clients over it before and will likely do so again.

We're just looking for some grace here. This staff is doing a lot of work for a lot of animals. We recognize that the majority of you recognize our efforts. But for those that don't, it is wearing thin. And believe me, we hold our tongues when stuff gets under our skin. Sometimes it is a Herculean effort not to clap back.

That being said, everyone in the clinic today saw how insane the afternoon was. Everyone saw what we were doing, were understanding and patient. And they understood why today for me was... *checks clock*... 11 hours. We at the clinic appreciate your grace.

Again though, I and the staff can only do so much. And when we do too much, we make mistakes. And hate to say it, but the veterinary shortage isn't getting better anytime soon. We are going to continue to do our best, but that needs understanding on your parts too.

This is Big John.

Big John is great.

You should adopt Big John.

He originally came to us as a stray brought in by a client with concern over his left eye. His eyelid was curling in and rubbing his cornea. This has been fixed and he is healing well.

He has been vaccinated, but he does have Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. And that's ok because he still has many years left in him.

Big John does not like other cats, which is OK because sometimes we don't like other people either. He does want to be a couch potato.

Adopt Big John.

Who is this handsome boy?

Milo is a three years-old, male neutered, Husky-Shepherd mix weighing about 70 lbs. He came to us about two months ago when an elderly client felt they could no longer handle him.

Turns out, Milo is a great boy that needs to get out of the kennel. He is certainly a goof ball who wants to stretch his legs. He is friendly, affectionate, and wants to be your shadow. He is dog-friendly with polite dogs, but may be better as the only pet in the house.

He is iffy with cats: sometimes ignoring them and sometimes that prey drive kicks in. So placing him in a home with cats is a no-go.

He is up to date on all his vaccinations and negative on his heartworm and f***l tests. He is pretty much ready to go for the right family.

Contact us after the holiday if you would like to meet him.
