Well that’s a wrap on the majority of our season. Congrats to everyone who successfully made a harvest this year. We got a ton of giant PA whitetails and a lot of bear in this year. Thank you to everyone who brought their trophy’s to Pike Creations to have us mount it. These past few years have been crazy here and we appreciate everyone’s patience in getting your mounts back. We cut no corners and would not want something hanging on your wall that we wouldn’t be happy with on ours. If you have a buck for a mount or euro, get it to us asap. At this point, unless it was harvested within the last few days or frozen upon harvest, we don’t want it. We try to emphasize every year the importance of getting your harvest to us in a timely manor to prevent hair slipping and nasty smells. Good luck to anyone heading out for late season and those hunting out of state still. We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year. For us it’s back to mounting time for a lot of back projects (deer, bear, coyotes, fox, turkey and everything else). Thanks again everyone. 🦌🦌

Looks like it’s going to be another awesome morning in the PA woods tomorrow. Good luck hunters. Boy did we get the bear in these last 2 days. Working overtime tonight and not even close to being finished. Let it snow!!! ❄️🦌🐻

Wow is the snow coming down. Should make for a perfect morning for the final Sunday hunt of the year. Good luck to all heading afield tomorrow for deer and bear. 🦌🐻

Just a few tips for anyone who is lucky to harvest a trophy you’d like to get mounted. Please DO NOT slice the throat of the deer (you know what I mean), please don’t use your knife to put a huge hole in its ear for tagging (use a small zip tie or safety pin), do not drag with a rope around its neck and try to its keep head and shoulders off the ground while dragging. If you’re not familiar with caping a deer please take to a reputable processor and have them do it. Most charge a small fee but it’s well worth it. If you process your own deer and are comfortable caping your own please follow this diagram. As always if there’s any questions please give me a call. 814-619-5061

Good luck to everyone heading afield for the statewide opening of rifle deer season. Also, this Sunday is the last Sunday hunt this year. As always, good luck and shoot straight. Enjoy your time afield and create some good memories with young hunters. If there’s anything we can do for you give us a call at 814-619-5061.

THE RUT IS ON!! Just had a nice 9 point dog’n 2 doe hard just before dark. They could hardly breathe. You gotta be out there every chance you can these next few weeks. Good luck all. 🏹🏹🦌🦌

Listen up all, save yourself a possible citation this year by properly notching the month and day on the back of your harvest tags. Notice that along the top has the months and the right side and bottom has the days. Take your knife and notch out the appropriate month and day. This is the new way and if you look at the front of your tag you’ll notice there’s no longer a spot to write the date. Also don’t forget to report your harvest within 10 days. Good luck out there. Hopefully this crappy weather goes away soon. The best of archery season is yet to come.

Good luck to all archery hunters heading afield tomorrow for the statewide opener. We’ve been very busy this past year and have a lot of back projects to catch up on. That being said, we made the difficult decision to only accept deer and bear this year. Plans are to use the time the deer and bear are at the tannery to get the past projects (furbearers, birds) finished in time for this years work to come back from the tannery. We never rush on work for any mount and hope you can understand our situation. Quality is of utmost importance to us and we never cut corners to rush out work. If you are successful on a deer please give us a call at 814-619-5061 to get that trophy mounted. Time is very important with these warm days. You want to get it field dressed and to the processor ASAP. Once again, good luck and hope to see you soon. 🏹🦌

Pennsylvania hunters now may carry digital versions of their licenses, in place of paper licenses, for certain species!

The Pennsylvania Game Commission authorized hunters and trappers to carry digital licenses and permits earlier this year, though paper harvest tags still must be carried and used in any season where harvests must be tagged.
Hunters and trappers who already have purchased their 2021-22 licenses can download PDF copies of their licenses and permits by logging in to their profile on HuntFishPA (https://huntfish.pa.gov) and accessing their Purchase History.

Read more here about digital licenses: https://bit.ly/3k79ycT

I use this app all the time. Not a bad deal if you’re interested.

Hey all, I was in Sporting Goods Discounters yesterday and they appeared to have a good supply of rifle ammo. Dunham’s also had a supply of most common calibers. Don’t wait until the season is upon you to decide to look for ammo. Keep in mind you are going to pay more for it, but at least you’ll have it.
