Just kidding! Angus is a Scottish Fold with very tiny ears folded close to his head and he's looking much more sophisticated after his bath and shed-less treatment ❤️

It's shedding season!! Pets everywhere are shedding their winter coats preparing for the warmer weather and many need extra help getting it out. Depending on a cat's coat type, texture, and density they can be holding on to a LOT more fur than you realize. Left unchecked this often develops into impacted and matted coats that become uncomfortable and don't allow any air movement through the coat making them feel hotter. Regular grooming with the right tools, bathing to clean the oils that trap the hair from being able to release, and blowing the coat out are the best way to keep kitties happy, comfortable, and mat free.
Gus, a British Shorthair known for their round, expressive faces and thick, dense coats, is looking exceptionally dapper after a much needed shed-less treatment ❤️

I just love a good clean up!! Mom was worried she would have to go naked due to matting, but thankfully the majority of it was still loose enough and she was tolerant of letting me carefully work it out so I only had to spot shave a couple small areas. Matting in cats is most often the result of dead coat and oils from the skin creating a sticky surface that the coat can't release from, so it continues to build on itself eventually forming tight matting. The last photo shows all the dead coat that was making up the knotting in her fur that couldn't get out that would have resulted in needing to be shaved if left unaddressed and without a proper bath and groom to remove the oil buildup on the skin and coat.

Shedding season is fast approaching and already started for some! That's not two cats side by side, that's the pre-bath comb out of dead hair even on a 5 week bathing schedule 😱!! Regular bathing, combing, and blow out keeps the skin and coat in good condition, keeps the hair around the house to a minimum, helps prevent matting, and helps to prevent hairballs.

Hi everyone!

I am taking some time off and will be closed until Tues, Sept 12th. My business line will be turned off until then. New appointment scheduling is also temporarily suspended until Sept 19th when I will start booking for the next available openings in October.
We're going to take some time to visit family and celebrate our first wedding anniversary ❤️. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Labor Day and I look forward to seeing you again soon!!

Hi, everyone,

I just wanted to make a post to let everyone know what's going on. Especially those that will be dealing with me in the following days.

I've had a very difficult last couple of weeks with an extremely hard past weekend. What started with a fairly routine surgery on the 1st to remove a mammary mass on one of my dogs turned into a nightmare of complications and lots of back and forth visits to the regular and emergency vets. By the 4th her sutures came loose and she was taken to the ER vet for repair and drain placement. When we got her home I found my senior cat in distress and turned right back around to the vet. By the time we left we determined he had hurt his back leg. He ended up having a reaction to the pain injection and was taken back the following evening for fluids. After that he came home to rest and seemed to be doing much better in the following days. My dog also seemed to be doing okay.
Last Friday she had managed to get through her cone and surgical suit to her incision and pulled a couple of sutures and when I went to check her incision it was continuously seeping blood from a tiny hole the suture left. That's when we discovered she had developed a bleeding disorder that wouldn't allow her blood to clot. Saturday morning I got the news she had cancer during a recheck and we were continuing to watch her blood levels and using clotting supplements.
Saturday night I went to check on my cat before heading to bed and walked in on him having a seizure. I scooped him up in my arms, but he was gone in less than a minute.
We tried plasma transfusions for my dog hoping to give her the clotting factors she needed, but it didn't help. She spent all of Sunday-Mon morning at the ER vet and Mon at her regular vet and came home that evening. After a while of being home she collapsed and couldn't get up and I knew I had to make the decision to let her go and end her suffering. We tried everything we could to save her, but nothing worked.
I lost 2 of my precious babies, Aslan and Danu, in less than 48 hours and it has absolutely broken me and left me with a terrible pain in my heart. So if I seem distant and quiet, please don't take offense. I'm just trying to get through this the best I can and need time and thank you in advance for your understanding.

Why, yes. Yes, I can!
Plush cuts are a great alternative to shaving using a guard comb to take the coat shorter while still leaving some length and helping make the coat more manageable at home and can be done in a variety of lengths. For the best results, this style of cut should be maintained every 6-10 weeks depending on the length left and coat type.

If kitty's coat looks like the images on the left of these before and afters, has lots of skin flakes, is starting to clump, and stands straight up in place if you push back against the growth and has no movement, it's time to get kitty a bath, blowout, and shed-less treatment!! Not only will they feel significantly better (everyone feels better with clean skin and hair) but it will help reduce their shedding, hairballs, itching, trim their nails, and clean the booth!

A clean cat is a happy cat!! ❤️🐈‍⬛

Kitties of all shapes, sizes, coat types, and coat lengths benefit greatly from regular grooming! Clean and oil free with dead coat removed is the foundation of healthy skin and coat and a cat that feels and looks its best!!
There are a variety of ways to keep your cat's coat between bath and haircut combinations that can be tailored to the individuals needs.

***PLEASE HELP!!!***

Hey everyone!!
I'd like to use my platform for something different today.
I don't know how many of you are familiar with or know about the historical flooding that happened up in Kentucky at the end of July, but we had the opportunity to go up and be a part of helping and meeting some of these people along with seeing the area Saturday.
Y'all...when I say it is heartbreaking. Their stories, the tragedies, the immense loss. So many of these people lost everything, their whole lives gone. And because it was never declared a state of emergency and these are people who already live in great poverty, they have been forgotten and left behind with no one to help them except individuals and church groups who feel so inclined.
When you drive through you see people's whole lives strewn across the ground and hills still covered in mud. Their homes gone and washed away. People living in damp, moldy trailers and houses or out of their cars or in tents because they have no where else to go.

They're looked at as nothing but "hillbillies" and bottom of the barrel of humanity. FEMA and other organizations offered little to no help at all. These are people no different than you or me and they need help.
If you have anything you can donate, please let me know so we can get it to them. They need EVERYTHING. There is a large box truck taking a delivery to them on the 1st of December, so if you can get some stuff together to give it, you have no idea how much these people appreciate it.
When I say a whole town was literally under water, I mean it. All of the businesses and buildings, and houses were fully submerged.

Baby's first groom!!!
Though nervous at first, Ash did great for his very first introduction to grooming.

The first best time to introduce cats to grooming is as a kitten between 12-16 weeks old. The second best time is now! It's always better to get a cat used to the grooming process and keep them on a maintenance schedule to prevent potential issues rather than waiting until they develop skin and/or coat issues and have to go through a potentially uncomfortable process that can make them associate grooming with bad feelings 🐈‍⬛❤️

This beautiful girl is mat free and feeling good! She's also sporting a modified form of the lion clip with a round head/face instead of a mane. A great alternative for some of the flat faced breeds such as Persians and Himalayans!

What a difference a good bath and brush makes!! You know this baby feels so much better after getting all that dead coat and dander out. Just like their canine counterparts, cats very much benefit from regular bathing and grooming to keep their skin and coat healthy and help prevent matting, hairballs, and significantly reduce shedding 🐈‍⬛❤️

This super sweet baby is feeling so much better after having her matting removed and a good bath to refresh her skin! She was so thankful that she would just roll to whatever side I needed to get to and purred and made biscuits through the whole process.
Animals often seem to know when we're there to help them and have their ways of showing appreciation 🐈❤️

It's not always about looks or a nice finish. Sometimes it's strictly about comfort like in the case of this 20 year old gal. Is her haircut perfect or even? Nope. But she's a lot more comfortable to have the matting off that forms because she can neither groom herself nor tolerate brushing with her thin, sensitive skin and achy joints. I also used a self heating cat bed to provide extra cushion and it allows for her body heat to be reflected back to her to help soothe those aches. Judging by the last picture, I think she likes the bed 🐈❤️

Sometimes grooming can be a little scary and stressful, so you need a super tasty treat afterwards to make it all better. Followed by another face cleaning of course! 😺❤️
