A Little Announcement from KK’s Hooves & Paws! 💕👶🏼

We have some exciting changes coming this fall!

Starting in September, we will be temporarily holding off on accepting new pet-sitting check-in clients as we prepare to welcome our very own two-legged tiny human into the family! 🍼💙

This is such a special and exciting season for us, and we’re incredibly grateful for all of your support and understanding as we take a little time to adjust to life with our newest addition. 🥰

🐾 For our existing clients: We will continue to care for your animals as scheduled and do our very best to keep everything running smoothly.

🐾 For new clients: We plan to begin accepting new pet-sitting clients again after October 10, 2026!

Thank you for allowing us to care for your beloved animals and for supporting our small business through this exciting new chapter. We can’t wait to introduce you all to our newest little family member! 💙

🎆🐾 Fireworks Safety: It’s Not Just Dogs & Cats—Livestock Need Protection Too! 🐴🐐🐄

While fireworks are a holiday tradition, they can be incredibly stressful for animals of all kinds. Loud booms and bright flashes may cause fear, panic, and injuries if pets or livestock become startled.

Keep your animals safe this Fourth of July:

🐶 Dogs & Cats
• Keep them indoors in a quiet, secure room.
• Ensure ID tags and microchip information are up to date.
• Play calming music or white noise to help drown out fireworks.
• Close doors, windows, and curtains to reduce noise and flashing lights.

🐴🐄🐐 Horses, Cattle, Goats & Other Livestock
• Check fences and gates before fireworks begin.
• Keep animals in a familiar pasture or barn if possible.
• Avoid moving or transporting livestock during fireworks.
• Make sure they have access to fresh water and plenty of hay to encourage calm behavior.
• Check on them once the fireworks have ended for any signs of injury or stress.

☀️🐾 Summer Safety Tip: Know the Signs of Heat Exhaustion in Dogs!

As temperatures rise, it’s important to keep a close eye on your furry friends. Dogs can overheat much faster than we do, and heat exhaustion can become life-threatening if it’s not recognized early.

Watch for signs like:
🐶 Excessive panting
💧 Dehydration
🚶 Weakness or trouble walking
🤢 Vomiting or diarrhea
🫨 Muscle tremors
❤️ Rapid pulse
😵 Dizziness or confusion

If you notice any of these symptoms, move your dog to a cool, shaded area, offer cool (not ice-cold) water, and contact your veterinarian right away.

At KK’s Hooves & Paws Petsitting, your pet’s safety is always my top priority. During hot weather, I make sure pets have fresh water, plenty of shade, and outdoor time is kept safe and appropriate for the temperature. 💛🐾
