Little Tate, or "Tater Chip" as we like to call him, is on the hunt for his forever home! Tate came to the AHHS after being left on our property. He was a scared and confused little boy. Since then, he has been placed into a loving foster home. There, he has re-learned what love and trust is. He's doing great with his foster mom and she makes many comments about how intelligent he is! He's most definitely potty trained. He's only had one accident since being with us! Tate loves the presence of other animals, so a home with some furry companions would be a bonus! Tate loves to be your shadow. He gets so excited when his foster returns home that he sings her the song of his people. I love being a lap dog and snuggling right with my human. We've determined that he does not require much activity and is actually more content lounging on the sofa watching out the window! He's a very easy, low maintenance dog! 🐶

Stats: 1 year old, 21 pounds, terrier mix!

Good Golly, Miss Dolly! 🥰

Dolly is a 5-and-a-half-month-old dachshund mix. She is the perfect pup; she gets along with everyone! She loves dogs, cats, and kiddos! She weighs in at just 18 pounds. Not only is she a friend of all, but she's already crate trained. For those of you that have had puppies, know what a HUGE bonus this is! She's also doing phenomenally with potty training and even walks well on a leash.

Adopting Dolly is a wonderful idea for many reasons: the biggest being the lack of work needed to put into basic puppy training as she's already mastered many skills. She will make someone a fantastic dog as long as the adopter promises to build upon the foundation already created! 💕

Introducing Moon (or Mama Moon, as we like to call her!). 🌙

Moon is a beautiful 1.5 year-old female cat that recently birthed and raised a litter of 3 of the cutest kittens we've ever seen! Now that her kittens are adoptable, she is on the search for a home of her own, too! Moon is a loving cat once she gets to know you. At first, she can be a little hesitant to trust. However, her past was unknown, so we try to give her some grace. She was found on someone's porch along with her kittens when they were just newborns. Moon has been exposed to both dogs and other cats. Moon deserves a bright future with a loving, forever home and we at the AHHS promise to find her just that! ❤️

She is the sister of Wynken and Blynken. She is a petite little thing, but don't let her size fool you--she's got a personality three times bigger than she is! According to her foster mom, she has the most endearing little personality. One can't help but to love her! She enjoys playing and then napping the day away.

This undeniably cute boy is Doc. He's another puppy from our seven dwarfs litter. Doc is a little butterball. He's one of the largest of his littermates. Just look at those rolls! See what we mean by CUTE?! He's got some more growing to do, but in the meantime, those little rolls will be one of his many redeeming qualities. Doc also carries many typical puppy characteristics. He's easy to please as long as he's got a bowl full of food, a nice lap to lay on, and toys to play with!

(Finn was rescued after being discarded on the side of the road. His rescuer is now looking for him a forever home!)

Introducing Finn! Finn is a puppy that was found curled up in a scared little ball on the side of the road. We feel he was likely dumped. After his stray hold was up, the AHHS helped the person that saved him get him neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and on flea prevention so that they can begin the search for him a loving, adoptable home! Finn is believed to be 6-8 months old. Despite his rough past, he has a larger-than-life personality! He befriends both cats and dogs with ease. Finn is the definition of a snuggle bug. Naps and cuddles are his favorite. He's potty trained as long as he is taken out consistently. He shows an eagerness and willingness to learn and follow directions. Finn had a rough start, but we know he has a bright future ahead!

This handsome fellow is ready to steal your family’s heart! He’s stolen his foster family’s! Ziggy loves his foster mommy but he adores kids and men most. He just lights up when he hears a man speak or sees kids coming. He’s great with cats! He has been around his fosters’ dogs, but one or the other are always meeting through a crate. The foster familys’ dogs are a very overwhelming crew. Ziggy always is excited to see them! He likes to eat in his crate alone where no one can rush him. He’s a nice slow eater. He’s still learning to play, but he seems to really love plush toys. He is potty trained and crate trained. He is learning commands, doing well on a leash and is extremely intelligent. He has a particular passion for hunting vermin, like rabbits! Ziggy would do best with a good sized fenced yard. He loves to run and sniff the day away…..searching for those pesky rabbits! He would probably love to explore hiking trails if given the chance!

My name’s Renley and I am a recent empty-nester. My children have all gone on to do their own things. Since their departure, my hobbies now include:

-Bread making, I’m particularly great at biscuits
-Looking at their baby pictures and crying
-Perfecting my lasagna in case they decide to visit (you know how those darn kids can be, always having their own agendas)
-Crocheting
-Watching all 57 seasons of Days of our Lives
-Clipping coupons

While I happen to think my hobbies are just fine, the folks overseeing my care beg to differ. They think I need “love” and “attention” and to “get out of my comfort zone”. I really am a great gal and would love to teach you all about saving money on canned cat food with my handy-dandy coupon system.

Renley is a 1.5 year old dilute calico. She was a mom of four, but all kittens have since been adopted!
