We’d like to give a huge shout-out to Dr. April Fitzgerald for the incredible work she does every single day!!!! Since joining the Spay/Neuter Clinic, she has been a driving force in the fight against pet overpopulation and helping to keep countless animals out of the shelter system.

Dr. Fitzgerald’s dedication goes far beyond her regular duties. She gives her time and energy selflessly treating shelter pets both on and off the clock, ensuring they receive the best possible care. She has even taken animals to specialists on her own time so they can benefit from the most advanced treatments available. And when a pet needs extra love and attention, she doesn’t hesitate to open her own home to provide that care.

Her compassion, commitment, and tireless efforts make an extraordinary difference in the lives of so many animals. We truly don’t know what we would do without her. Please join us in celebrating Dr. Fitzgerald!🥳🥰🥳😍

Did you know? In addition to providing affordable spay/neuter surgeries and preventative care services to pets in our community, our veterinarians and support staff also donate their time to provide medical care to animals that enter the shelter.
Cesar, a sweet old gentleman who recently underwent heartworm treatment and River, a loveable young gal under our care for extensive wound management, are examples of the work we do behind the scenes (in addition to performing up to 30 surgeries per day). Not only do our vets and staff donate their time to treat these animals, they also frequently foster them in their homes to help them recover.
These medical cases often need expensive medications and supplies (such as specialized bandaging, antibiotics and heartworm medications) that quickly exceed a shelter’s budget. To enable us to continue to provide the care these animals deserve, we kindly ask (and thank) our community for any monetary donations you can provide. Turns out we don’t need no stinkin’ badges… but apparently we do need a licensed veterinarian. 😅

Because of that little technicality, we’ll be closed Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
