🚨 Not all toys are the safest toys. Sweet Vanevi presented after finding himself in a predicament playing with a toy meant for his bigger canine housemate. His smaller jaw was the perfect size to get stuck and trapped behind his teeth. With a little liquid courage the toy was removed and Vanevi is now home recovering!

This little opossum is very opposed to glue traps 🐾

This sweet baby came to us after being caught in a glue trap - scared, stuck, and covered in adhesive. Unable to escape, he was left vulnerable to outside cats resulting in further injury. With supportive care he has a guarded prognosis but we are all hoping for the best.

Glue traps don’t just catch pests - they cause prolonged suffering and often trap unintended victims like wildlife and even pets. Tonight, this little one has a second chance.

Meet Cosmo! This handsome man presented to Island Pet Urgent Care for bite wounds and scratches. Fortunately, his bravery and perfect personality allowed us to get him all fixed up. Mom reports he’s back shooting for the stars … and Churu. He easily made our March 🐱 🏥 ⭐️

This turtle was found injured after trying to cross the road. Sadly this is something we see far too often - especially when the weather gets warmer and they are moving to find food, water, or nesting areas.

Turtles may be slow, but they are incredibly important to our ecosystems. Many take 10-20 years just to reach reproductive age, so losing one adult turtle can have a big impact on the local population.

If you see a turtle crossing the road please safely try and help.

🐢 Slow down and give them space
🐢 If able, help them cross in the direction they were heading
🐢 Never relocate them far away - they rely on familiar territory to survive

A moment of patience and being aware when we drive can save a life. Please keep an eye out on our coastal roads and neighborhood streets. We must protect these ancient little travelers 💚
