🚛 BACK UP COMMAND 🚛
I was stuck on how to get thru to Cora on this command. I tried using leash pressure or a lure and both ended up with her in a sit and confused. I was chatting with the other day and she gave me the awesome tip to toss a piece of food behind her to prompt her to back up and it totally clicked.🎉 So grateful for the IG dog training community, I get inspired and learn on a daily basis!

🥰 HEAD DOWN COMMAND 🥰
The first time I saw the “head down” command was with Mary from and her gorgeous pup . It kinda caught me off guard in the best way. 🥰 It’s one of those commands that elicits an internal “awwww” every time I see it. Not sure that it has some monumental purpose but it is soo darn cute and fills me with even more tenderness for my pup so I call that a win! Would love to see you and your pup practicing the head down command too 🥰

✋🏻 WAIT COMMAND ✋🏻 I saw .the.workingline.gsd do the wait command on their stories and I knew it would be a fun one to work on next. This was our first attempt so it’s a little bumpy, we will work on only saying the command once, adding distance, duration and distraction little by little and applying the command to different situations. It’s such a great command to teach impulse control and keep your dog’s attention on you to wait for the release command. If you try this please tag me, would love to see how it goes with your pups!
