Here is what you need to do should you decide to bring a dog into your home:

1. Do your breed research. Not all dogs are good for your physical environment. Make sure the dog matches your energy level. Make sure the dog is allowed to decompress. NOT HONORING decompression is a sure way to start off the relationship on the wrong foot.
2. Make sure you are not buying from a puppy mill. These suppliers don't care about quality of breeding. If you can't see mom and dad dog then you should run the other way. Ohio, Pennsylvania, Mid-Western states are all high puppy mill areas.
3. Have a veterinarian secured. You will need to get a medical check up to validate the health of the dog.
4. Have a trainer secured. You need one from day one.

DOGS ARE A LIFE LONG COMMITTEMENT. If you can't commit then don't buy!

It is cold out and when the dogs' feet touch the ground it is like standing on dry ice. Three will be accidents in the house when it is this cold out. Please know you dog is not regressing in the potty training area and be patient. The situation will work itself out when it gets warmer. IN THE MEANTIME: do NOT yell at your pup for having an accident....it will only intensify the habit.

I provide basic puppy training. This includes socialization techniques. Socialization is NOT meeting a dog but involves so many more experiences. I will teach you how to properly socialize with your new friend.

I will teach you how to potty train your puppy. YES! There is a method for proper toilet training.

I also will teach you how to manage and rehabilitate your reactive dog (if that applies) with many small steps (approximations) of training tasks such as pattern games and basic obedience using positive motivation training techniques.

I include the following with my training packages: one on one support before (consultation phone call) , during active training and after training is finished if need be. I am available 24/7 by email or text and I return phone calls generally within one hour of you reaching out to me. I also provide a detailed set of progress notes for your use so that you have a reference point for all the material we discussed.

I am available for virtual training sessions in all states within the USA. I do conduct in person training sessions if you are in close proximity to my home base. Please know that keeping the dog in your home is both my priority and my passion.

I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer who is knowledge-assessed (CPDT-KA). This means that I have studied my profession both on an intellectual science based platform along with 18 years of practical experience. I have been certified for 15 years. It is important that any dog trainer be certified as this process means that the trainer is held accountable by a governing organization to be the most educated, hold the highest moral and ethical standards, and treat the client as honestly and true as is possible. Trainers who hold the CPDT-KA title are obligated to take a oath of “doing no harm” and can be ousted if said trainer is reported for any wrongdoing.

Mammal brains must develop over time. Dogs need to develop their frontal cortex in order to understand what is required of them. This process takes two years. This is the reason we have the term PUPPY BRAIN. The puppy brain simply does not have the capacity to learn everything at once much like a toddler needs to be reminded what is required of them.
