I have been told I look very dignified in photos.

Very majestic.
Very serious.

This is somewhat misleading.

I also enjoy running, playing, and generally making sure life stays interesting.

But if looking handsome helps me find a family, I am willing to maintain my professional appearance for the camera.

🐾 Mr. Goodbar had an important assignment today.

He stopped by the Glenpool Farmers Market to meet the wonderful folks from Finn Knows Soap and give their products a thorough puppy inspection.

After carefully sniffing everything within reach, charming everyone he met, and making sure the quality control standards were up to par, Mr. Goodbar is happy to report that he officially approves of both the soap and the humans behind it. 🐶✔️

We’re especially excited because Finn Knows Soap is partnering with Oklahoma German Shepherd Rescue on a special soap that will help support the dogs in our care. Every partnership like this helps us continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for dogs in need.

Thank you to Finn Knows Soap for supporting rescue dogs and for giving Mr. Goodbar such a warm welcome today. We think he may have found some new friends!

Meet Venus. ✨ A182687 | 3 Years Old | German Shepherd Mix

Some dogs walk out of their kennel and immediately make you stop and stare. Venus is one of those dogs.
She is absolutely gorgeous. The kind of dog that turns heads and makes people ask, "How is she still here?"

But here she is.

Venus has been waiting at Tulsa Animal Services since May 31, and while she is not currently on the at-risk list, we all know how quickly that can change when kennels stay full and dogs keep getting overlooked.
If you know German Shepherds, you know they aren't just beautiful dogs. They're smart. Loyal. Athletic. Driven. They want a job, a purpose, and a person to call their own.

Venus appears to have many of those classic German Shepherd traits. She notices everything. She's engaged with her surroundings and ready for someone who appreciates the intelligence and companionship this breed is known for.

The shelter is not where a dog like Venus belongs long term.

Let's not wait until she's on an at-risk list.
