Meet Judd (left) and Culvert (right)! 🎉🐾

Two chunky bulldog mix besties who wandered into our lives like, “Hey, so… we live here now?” 🤣💛

These boys are brand new, but already melting hearts left and right. They’re friendly, cute, and have the kind of faces and personalities that make you say “OMG, I love them!” every 0.3 seconds.

Even though they came in as a pair, they’re perfectly fine being apart and can be adopted separately. Double the pups, double the chances to make a family happy! 💛

We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Susan. Susan was a monumental part of building DCHS to where it is today. She was an amazing animal advocate, always ready to help out in any way that was needed.

We extend our condolences to Susan's friends and family. We will always keep the mission going that Susan so strongly believed in. ❤️🐾

Surprise!! We will be having Dog's Day Out SUNDAY 11/16 from 9:30-12. We have some amazing dogs that would love to get out for a walk, throw a ball in the yard or even just sit and get some pets. If you're looking for something to do, stop by!

Hershey got the privilege of spending the morning out with Cora and her family. He is SUCH an amazing dog looking for a foster or a family of his own. ❤️🐾

You already know that Willow raised 9 puppies like a pro, and watched them all leave for their new families. 👋

What you don't know is that she came back to the shelter waiting for her turn...and that shelter life is ALOT for this girl.

She’s a 1.5–2-year-old Pit Bull mix who has the sweetest, softest heart. She does great with other dogs, and she’s even met several men here at the shelter and done well — she just needs slow introductions and someone who understands her gentle nature. Check out her loving nudges in the comments section.

Willow loves routine, loves learning, and loves having “her person” once she trusts you. She didn’t come back because she did anything wrong… she has had little interest in being adopted, and now she’s hoping for a true forever home.

One of our newest pups Leek made his public debut by visiting the Christmas Stroll in Huntingburg today. He walked around like a big man, and then realized…
Being a puppy is exhausting. So naturally, he made the humans carry him like the dramatic toddler he truly is.

He's 4 months old and already a big boy… but still a full-time baby, and demands to be treated as such.

This handsome fella is looking for a forever home to finish growing (and growing and growing) and a family to love with his whole (giant) heart. So if you have room in your home for a big dog that desires the "spoiled rotten" treatment, Leek just might be your guy!

🌟 Happy National Practice Manager Week to Our Amazing Kaia! 🌟

If you’ve ever wondered who keeps our clinic days running smoothly… who makes sure our shelter pets get the care they need… who shows up with a smile to every fundraiser, event, and early-morning radio spot… the answer is simple: Kaia.

Kaia has been a part of DCHS for years— first as a volunteer, then as a board member, and now as our incredible Clinic Coordinator. She juggles scheduling, organizing, communicating, problem-solving, and making sure every pet that comes through our doors gets the very best start possible. And she does it all quietly, humbly, and with so much love.

She’s also the face (and hands!) behind so many of our community visits — taking our dogs to radio stations, bringing them to events, and being an all-around rockstar ambassador for the animals who need a voice.

Kaia is the kind of person who sees a need and steps in before anyone even asks. The kind of person who gives her time, her energy, and her heart — not because she has to, but because she truly cares.

Today, we celebrate YOU, Kaia.
Thank you for all you do for our animals, our staff, our volunteers, and our community. We are so lucky to have you as part of the DCHS family. ❤️🐾

Dubois County Humane Society is completely full and in immediate need of a foster for this puppy. At roughly four months old, Herman is sweet as a button and super playful! He's super food motivated, loves to cuddle, and has been exposed to children, cats, and other dogs with zero issues! Howie is available TODAY with an approved foster application.
