āAnother child has died by su***de in our county. That is two children in just two days. š
At some point, we have to stop asking, āWhat can we do?ā and start coming together to actually do something.
September is Teen Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, and I believe this is the time for our community to come togetherāchurches, schools, organizations, families, businesses, parents, and anyone who cares about the children in our community.
Su***de has personally impacted my son and his friends over the past few years, so this is something that hits very close to home for me. I cannot sit back and watch this continue to happen without trying to be part of the solution.
This is bigger than one family, one school, one church, or one organization. Our children need all of us.
I would love to see our community come together in September to raise awareness, educate parents and teens, provide resources, encourage open conversations, and remind our kids that they are seen, they are loved, and they are not alone.
I am asking for your ideas, your support, and your willingness to help.
What can we do together?
Could we organize a community awareness event? A walk? A candlelight vigil? Partner with local churches and organizations? Bring in mental health professionals? Create resource cards for parents and teens? Have schools, businesses, and community groups participate?
I donāt have all the answersābut I believe that if we come together, we can make a difference.
If you have ideas, resources, connections, or simply want to help, please comment or message me. Letās start the conversation. Letās bring our community together. And most importantly, letās do something for our kids.ā
