Losing a pet can be a scary and terrible experience and it can happen to any of us. According to statistics, one in three pets become lost at some point in their lives. 😿 However, a missing pet need not be lost forever. Today on National Lost Dog Awareness Day, we want to share some helpful tips to make sure your lost pet finds their way home.
💟 Report your lost pet: First things first – report your lost pet on Petco Love Lost with a photo go make your pet visible to finders. Petco Love Lost is a free and easy way to search 300K+ lost and found pets to help them return home. Check them out here: https://petcolove.org/lost/
💟 Keep watch: Engage your neighbors, post on social media and keep an eye out on our HSSW lost pets page: https://www.petsgohome.org/pet-services/lost-pet-services/
💟 Check the chip: GET YOUR PETS MICROCHIPPED! Lost pets that have a registered microchip are far more likely to be reunited with their owners. Collars, harnesses and tags can break off or be removed. A microchip will permanently identify your pet when they get lost. Your pets not microchipped? Here at HSSW you can come into our low-cost wellness clinic and chip your pet for just $24. While no one wants to think of their furry friend in a shelter environment, you can rest assure, if they do find themselves brought into HSSW, our caring staff will welcome them with open, loving arms. ❤❤
