A petition to make a federal holiday may start here 🙌🏼

It’s always National Dog Day at our home & we thought it might be time to introduce you to the four resident dogs of The Dog House Academy!

Meet:

Dixie 🩷- A 9y/o Border Collie and Lab mix who loves to give high fives, chase squirrels, lounge in the pool, and play fetch for hours!

Nala 🩷- A 8y/o Pyrenees mix that loves to sun bathe in the grass and she will lounge and snuggle with you the entirety of the day if she can! She will also quickly remind you when it’s time to eat!

Jax 🩵 - A 3y/o Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Narcotics and Apprehension K9! Jax loves his days spent at work and actually has the cutest puppy passport from when he ventured from Holland to America!

Finnegan 🩵 - A 1y/o Anatolian Shepherd and American Labrador mix! Finnegan was a rescue from Sacred Sycamore Animal Rescue in Hendricks County that joined our family in February! He is 85lbs, full of puppy energy, and learning every day!

We know how powerful the love and bond between dog and human is! We promise to treat your dog as our own during their stay!

On Sunday we said “see you later 👋🏼” to sweet miss Athena! She was a joy for us to have for our three week board and train program where she was able to learn the obedience foundation to set her up for success in the future.

Athena was adopted from a shelter after a life of abuse. The focus of her training was to teach her that obedience is not scary through positive reinforcement. Her parents wanted her to learn not to jump on people, recall training, potty/crate training + basic commands of sit, stay, and place!

Lucky for us, it’s only a see you later for Athena. With our board and train programs, we offer FIVE in home sessions after your pups return home to assist with the transition! This service is included within the initial costs of which ever training program you choose to go with!

We are so excited we will get to see Athena continue to grow and build a happy and loving bond with her parents! Check out this review from her momma and the happiest little pup pictured with it!

We have had a full house of the best boys this weekend! We would love to introduce you to them all right now but let’s start with one special to our hearts here at the Dog House.

Say hello to, K9 Maxx! 🖤💙🖤

K9 Maxx is a retired good boy from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. Branden has had the joy of working alongside Maxx on the road before becoming a K9 Officer and this weekend K9 Maxx’s Handler had a well deserved weekend vacation!

Due to the specialized training Branden has developed, we are more than equipped to handle the needs and safety Maxx requires!

August is here and there’s no better time to reach out for training!
