Update: he visited our food station yesterday morning but hasn't been back yet, we have many people in this tight-knit neighborhood that have put food out in front of their cameras for the dog and we are just waiting for him to find them and eat their a couple of times and we will be getting a trap out. Jamie Siffrinn is keeping in touch with all of the neighbors and keeping track of the sightings and once we get the dog eating somewhere we'll have everyone pull their food in and just have one feeding station where the trap will be set .This community is banding together and doing a great job trying to get food to this dog . I want to remind everyone, if you see the dog do not make any forward movement toward him ,do not make direct eye contact, he wants to come to people, he wants to to be rescued ,he's been following people a little bit but for one reason or another something will scare him away. If you see the dog get very low to the ground do not make direct eye contact let the dog make the moves if he doesn't come to you just throw some food to him and start walking away he may follow you... otherwise just report the sighting please and thank you !!

This dog has been running for 3 days in the Bolivar Drive area, Lake Circle Drive area of Bradford Pennsylvania and appears to be heading toward Allegheny state park. Please do not call out to this dog ,chase this dog, follow this dog or try to capture it , that will just push it further away and most likely into danger. If you see this dog get low to the ground and try to toss it some food if it comes to you fine if not leave a pile of food and retreat and contact us at. 716-397-2506 thank you !!!

Jeff Johnson, the DCO for Gerry NY reached out for assistance in trapping this pup, it has been hanging around a residence for at least a week in these cold temperatures. Jeff checked around the neighborhood to see if it belonged to anyone but there's not many houses around where it was. Kim Cusimano met Jeff yesterday and they set the trap and we had this beautiful boy safe in less than 24 hours !!! Nice work Kim and Jeff πŸ‘ would like to thank the homeowner for feeding this dog and letting us use their property to get him trapped safely. If anybody recognizes this dog it was trapped on Old Chautauqua Rd Gerry New York. See video in comments

🟑 A quick reminder about helping lost dogs in survival mode 🟑

We know everyone wants to help when a dog is missing β€” and we appreciate that more than you know. But please remember:

🚫 Walking through the woods, calling out, or bringing your own dog to β€œtrack” the missing one almost never works. Training a scent tracking dog takes years of dedicated training.
🚫 It usually scares the lost dog farther away from the area they were hiding.

Dogs in survival mode are terrified. They don’t recognize familiar voices, and they flee from anything that feels like pressure β€” even well-intentioned searchers.

✨ The most effective way to help is simple: HANG SIGNS.
Signs get sightings. Sightings lead to safe captures.

Instead of search parties, please put your time and energy into hanging signs with the dog’s photo and the owner’s phone number. That is the most effective way to generate sightings that bring lost dogs home.

Who wants to feel good right now and possibly even shed a tear ???
After Linda, Frankie, and Vicki did an extensive foot search and then after a possible sighting, a thermal drone was flown to try to locate him but was unsuccessful . We were getting so worried that we would never be able to find him and that he wouldn't be able to endure these frigid temperatures for 2 weeks let alone possibly fall prey to coyotes because of his blindness .Well, late this afternoon Scout, the seven-year-old blind dog, has finally come out of the woods and was seen by Joe Deering in his front yard. He immediately called Linda Jordan Loomis who had left her number with him while out searching a few days ago. Great job Linda for talking to some of the neighbors and leaving your phone number with them !!!
She then called me and Linda, Frankie, and I just couldn't get up there fast enough to try and help. I spoke with Joe on the phone and asked him to please keep eyes on the dog and not to let him out of his sight until we got there, but thankfully Joe, 12 year old Alaina Ongley, and her Mom Amanda were able to corral Scout and Alaina grabbed on to him and Larry Anderson was able to get a leash around his neck, thank God !!! They said that he was running around like crazy even, though he was blind, making it a little tough to catch him at first but the three of them did a great job capturing him, WELL DONE GUYS πŸ‘!!! When we got there Sheri and Dan, Scouts owners were sitting with him in the Jeep getting him warm and the tears were flowing 😭 I'm not sure if they thought they would ever see him again. We then went home with Scout and his owners to assist them in getting at least 25 to 30 ticks off of him, his nose is pretty banged up from dragging it through the crusty snow and ice and he has lost a lot of weight trying to stay warm in these frigid temperatures. We would like to thank all of the neighbors in the immediate area of Newton Sanford Road and Hunt roads who were keeping an eye out for Scout and also a big thank you to Chris the owner of Frosty Jacks who graciously fed us lunch on the day of our foot search and thank you to Jeff Johnson who came out and flew his drone for 2+ hours for us. Welcome home Scout, enjoy a night in front of that beautiful warm wood stove you deserve it πŸ₯Ή Sherry and Dan will be taking him to the vet's tomorrow for a checkup. Update : It went very well at the vet's office. Remi has recovered quite nicely on his own in the last day or so but we still felt the need to take him in and have a vet look at him ...after examining him thoroughly he decided that he did not need to give him x-rays, he didn't feel that he had any fractures . He did get a rabies shot and a distemper shot while he was there. Let me just say that Remi is such a sweet dog and you could tell that he loves his Daddy very much and vice versa . We are beyond happy there was nothing seriously wrong with him. Jessey is blown away by the generosity of the donors that we had for Remi and for the help that he has received from Great Dames Trap & Recover. So on behalf of Remi, Jesse and the Dames we would like to thank everyone for their kindness and their generosity. We did receive more donations than what the bill was and I will be contacting each one of them to be partially reimbursed, again thank you so much and everyone please have a wonderful Thanksgiving.!!! πŸ¦ƒ

Update: We have a appt with a vet tomorrow afternoon. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated for Remi ❀️

This is 5 year old Remi, He is the dog we were trying to trap, but before we could get the trap up that evening he was a struck by a car and ran off. He did not show up on the porch that he had been visiting that eve so we thought the worst. But the next day we received word that he had made it back home. Remi was in some pain and wasn't walking that good. At this time his owner said Revy is walking a bit better but isn't eating that good and hasn't had a bowel movement in 2 days... His owner is having a little bit of a rough time right now and can't afford vet care. I have inquired to a couple of local vets for an estimate for some X-rays and office visit , most likely an ultrasound would be needed and some pain meds as well. The estimate is just shy of 500.00 dollars. The owner has chosen to wait a couple more days to see how he does. If his situation doesn't improve he will need to see a vet. If anyone would like to chip in for Remi's care please message me for details. I will make sure that the money goes directly to the vet toward his care. Thank you !

UPDATE: we made contact with the owner of the dog that was hit yesterday and this is the same dog that has been frequenting this porch for the last couple of weeks he said his dog wandered back home last night and is kind of banged up and we're hoping he can get it into a vet tomorrow for an x-ray πŸ™
We were made aware of a black dog that has been hanging around East Street in Warren Pennsylvania for a couple of weeks we just learned of it last night but today apparently it was hit on the corner of 5th and East Street and then ran off either up East Street or Water Street if anyone sees this dog please message us or call 716-397-2506 thank you and please share post.
