Adoption First Animal Rescue We are an animal rescue located in North Carolina! We specialize in pulling dogs and cats that are set to be euthanized at the local animal shelters.

We also run a pet pantry for those in need in our community. We are a nonprofit animal rescue based in Jacksonville, NC. We currently do dog and cat adoptions. UPDATE- this guy snuck into the food bin and ate WAY too much food. The vet thinks just needs some time to settle and he should be just fine! We still have a bill we have to cover.

URGENT!
Neptune may have BLOAT!
He is on his way to Coastal Veterinary Emergency Clinic right now.

So far: Dry Heaving, throwing up, not settling, all not great signs.

A few days ago, we shared an update on Avocadoā€™s sister, Kida, and now itā€™s time for this handsome boy to have his moment!

Avocado came to us from the same neglect situation as his sister, and weā€™re so happy to see how far heā€™s come. Heā€™s getting the care, love, and second chance he deservesā€”and now heā€™s available for adoption!

Weā€™re hoping that ā€œavailableā€ is a very temporary status for this sweet boy. šŸ˜‰ He has so much life ahead of him, and we would LOVE to see him find a family of his own!

šŸ¾ For everyone who has been following Kida and her brother Avocado, hereā€™s a little update on how Kida is doing. ā¤ļø

When Kida first came to us, she had endured truly deplorable neglect and had a long road ahead of her. But look at her now. šŸ„¹

Kida is settling in, getting the care she deserves, and showing us more and more of her sweet personality every day. She still has plenty of healing and learning ahead of her, but she is doing so well ā€” and we couldnā€™t be more proud of this girl. šŸ¾šŸ’•

These photos may seem like small updates, but for Kida, they represent something much bigger: comfort, safety, and the chance to finally just be a dog.

Kida is not available for adoption yet. For now, sheā€™s exactly where she needs to be ā€” safe with us, receiving the care and patience she deserves while she continues her journey.

Thank you to everyone who has followed her story, cheered her on, and supported her along the way. We canā€™t wait to keep showing you this girlā€™s progress. ā¤ļø

Some of our dogs are living their best lives in foster homesā€”and while thatā€™s AMAZING for them, it also means they donā€™t get nearly as much visibility as the pups you can meet at the rescue.

So today, weā€™re changing that! šŸ“£ā¤ļø

These pups are getting to experience the comforts of a home, learn routines, show off their personalities, and soak up plenty of love while they wait for their forever families. šŸ”šŸ¶
