🐾 GUEST SPOTLIGHT: RIP 🐾

Five weeks ago, Rip couldn't even look at another dog without reacting. Barking. Lunging. Ready to fight. Even his own sister wasn't exempt. 😬

When Rip first arrived at Webb Wagg Hotel with his sister Mahogany, the difference between the two couldn't have been greater. Mahogany is sweet, social, and ready to play with everyone she meets. 🐶❤️

Rip? Reactive. So reactive, in fact, that we couldn't safely allow him to interact with—or even see—our other guests.

It would have been easy to decide Rip simply wasn't a good fit for WWH but we didn't. Rip and Mahogany stayed with us on and off for about a month while their humans traveled for work, which gave us something incredibly valuable: time.

Time to learn Rip. Time to earn his trust. Time to show him he was safe here.

We didn't force him into situations he wasn't ready for. We gave him space, worked within his comfort level, and let him adjust to WWH at his own pace.

And slowly, we started meeting the dog underneath all that reactivity. Turns out, Rip is a BIG TIME cuddler. 😂 He's affectionate, goofy, and an absolute sweetheart once he knows you're his friend. And now? Rip can peacefully coexist with our other guests and Just LOOK. AT. THAT. SMILE. 😭🐾

Dogs can be reactive for many reasons, including fear, anxiety, frustration, overstimulation, and uncertainty. In fact, one study found that 72.5% exhibited at least one highly problematic anxiety-related behavior.

That's why at Webb Wagg Hotel we don't automatically write off a dog because of their breed, their reputation, or even the behavior they show us on Day One. We get to know the dog in front of us, respect their boundaries, adjust our approach, and give them a chance to trust us. For Rip, the time spent resulted in trust, an unbreakable bond, cuddles, peaceful pack time, a few new friends, and one BIG happy smile. 🥹💙💚

Lilo, an American Staffie mix, is friendly, playful, and jumped right into Webb Wagg Hotel's Big Dog Energy! Her sister Winnie, an American Foxhound mix, is more shy and took a bit longer to sniff us out.

But with a little WWH warmth, patience, and compassion, Winnie quickly began coming out of her shell. 🥹 Before long, she was playing with her sister, making new friends, and enjoying her time at WWH!

And we love that their mom Heather noticed the little touches too! Both girls headed home freshly bathed with bows 🎀 and new tennis balls to enjoy. 🎾 It's all part of what the WWH team does to make sure every guest dog's stay feels a little extra special.

🚨🐾 NEW GUEST ALERT! 🐾🚨

Please join us in giving a BIG Wagg Pack Welcome to our newest guest, Luna! 💙💚

This beautiful Great Pyrenees is spending her very first weekend at Webb Wagg Hotel while her humans enjoy a weekend away in Orlando—and she brought her company!! Her sister Eve, an English Mastiff, came along for the stay too. 🐶❤️

Needless to say, between a Great Pyrenees and an English Mastiff, there is A LOT of Big Dog Energy at the Hotel this weekend. 😂🐾

Luna has been such a sweet girl and is settling right into WWH life. She's getting plenty of attention, making herself comfortable, and—as you can see—has already figured out that sometimes the best part of vacation is finding a comfy spot, stretching out, and taking a good nap. 😂💤

We love welcoming new dogs into our home and getting the chance to learn their personalities, their routines, and all the little things that make them them. We're so glad Luna's family trusted us with their girls for the weekend!

🐾 WEEKEND RECAP: Less Crazy, Less Stormy, Plenty of Wags Yet! 💙💚

Last week was a little calmer than we're used to here at Webb Wagg Hotel, but sometimes a quiet week is nice! We still had plenty of furry faces, wagging tails, playtime, and fun to keep us company. 🐶❤️

We welcomed Boone to the WWH family for the very first time! This energetic puppy was recently rescued by an amazing human family, and we loved getting to know him and watching him make himself right at home. 🥰

Of course, we had some familiar WWH faces too! Samson, our lovable Bernedoodle repeat guest, came back to steal our hearts—and our couch—once again. 😂 Duke, a WWH regular and best friend to our very own Chief Bark Officer, Barkley, was back for more pack time, while fellow regulars Chewie & Calypso joined in on the weekend fun!

Sweet Gaby is also spending some extra time with the WWH family during an extended stay while her human is out of the country. We're happy to be her home away from home until they're reunited. 💙

And this weekend brought something new for us, too! We made our first drop-in visits with our neighborhood friends, Dakota, Goose & Bodi—the Featherstone pups! 🐾 These three big pups are as fun and sweet as they look. Goose isn't usually too sure about people, but apparently he decided we're friends, and we are THRILLED to accept that honor. 🥹❤️

It may have been a quieter week at Webb Wagg Hotel, but there was still plenty of Big Dog Energy to go around. 🐾💙💚

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ANOTHER ONE! 🙌🐾💙💚

Meet Ollie, one of the sweetest black Goldendoodles you could ever meet! 🖤🐶

Ollie and his family have been through a lot lately and this sweet boy has had to adjust to quite a bit of unexpected change. But you certainly wouldn't know it from meeting him! Ollie is as friendly, loving, and happy as could be, and he quickly won over the Webb Wagg Hotel team and guests with his sweet personality.

We were especially grateful to have the opportunity to care for Ollie while his dad, Clyde, was away for the weekend. Knowing everything this family has been through recently made it that much more important to us that Ollie had a place where he could simply be a dog—getting plenty of love and attention, making friends, playing, and enjoying himself while away from his family. 🐾❤️

We know how much trust it takes to leave a four-legged family member in someone else's care, and we're so glad Clyde felt comfortable knowing Ollie was in good hands. We absolutely loved having Ollie as part of our pack and we hope the next chapter brings his whole family plenty of happy days together. 💙💚🐾

We can't wait to see you again, Ollie!

🐾 WWH WEEKEND RECAP! 🐾

Another fun weekend in the books at Webb Wagg Hotel! 💙💚

Jacksonville gave us a little bit of everything this weekend—HEAT ☀️, rain 🌧️, and plenty of humidity—but that certainly didn’t stop the fun! The Webb Wagg Team worked around the weather to make sure our guests still got plenty of playtime, fresh air, friends, and tail wags. 🐶🐾

We welcomed some adorable new faces to the pack this weekend! 🥰 Ollie the Goldendoodle, Luna the Bulldog, and Zoey the Yellow Lab joined us for the first time, while some of our WWH regulars—including Sadie the Goldendoodle, Skippy the Chihuahua, and Bronco the Shepherd—were back for another weekend of Big Dog Energy. 💙

And while the dogs were busy playing, our humans were busy, too! 🔨🐾 Joseph led our Canine Experience Team in designing a brand-new area dedicated to grooming services. We're always looking for ways to improve the WWH experience for our guests and their humans, and we're excited to watch this new space come together!
