Update: All puppies have been adopted!

We have another round of puppies looking for homes from the same home as the last litter. (Mr. Bugs apparently did a good bit of damage in the all girl house before he was neutered with his eye enucleation). This group is about 3.5 months old and just came in today. They have had their first round of vaccines and deworming.

These ones are Pekingese/Pomeranian/Chihuahua. The bigger merle is a Female and the other two are Males.

They are very scared since it is their first day here, but they are very sweet.

Please let us know if you are interested in adopting one of these babies, or if you would like to visit them!

NEMO IS ADOPTED!

Meet Nemo! She is looking for a special needs home!

Nemo was found a few weeks ago with her deceased siblings. It appeared the litter had either been thrown from a vehicle or run over. She has an immobile arm and blood from her nose.
She has been a little trooper for us, and one of the sweetest kittens we have ever had here!
Her right shoulder was completely dislocated and it did not appear she could feel it. She has regained partial use of it, but the elbow has fused at a bent angle despite daily manipulation. She can move the paw and the entire arm back and forth. She is unable to stand on the limb, but she does use it to play with toys and pickup food!

She can move around quite well, though she has places to be and sometimes gets a little ahead of herself, so she may take a tumble here and there. It does not slow her down as much as you would expect.
She has no problems with the litterbox and loves to play.
She would need to be an indoor only kitty to protect her from predators and outside hazards.

Up for Adoption!

This is Mr. Bugs! He is the father to the girls that were just adopted out. He is a 16 month old Pekingese, and was neutered a few weeks ago when the poor boy had to have his eye removed after he was attacked by a bigger dog.

He is a little scared, but easily swayed by snacks and bum-scratches :) He would like a nice lap to sit on.

While Mr. Benny is still looking for his forever home, we also have a few 7 month old Pekinese/Pomeranain girls here this week hoping to find theirs!

The owner of these girls is having major medical issues and is needing to rehome them. We have updated their vaccines and they have all tested negative for heartworms. They are very sweet and would love to meet you today!

New Kitten Adoption Opportunity!

Benny is about 10 weeks old. He is FELV/FIV Negative and has had his first vaccine and deworming.

He is very personable and does not know what a stranger is. He would like to sit on your shoulder and whisper sweet nothings in your ear....loudly.

We had someone bring in a dog that was hit-by-a-car this morning. The pet passed away en route. We were unable to find a microchip. He was a blue-merle-ish looking dog about 65lbs and was an intact male.

Edited to add: pet was hit off of Blair Road.
We will put a photo in the comments for identification, as a possible trigger warning.

!!!!!!!UPDATE! ADOPTED!!!!!!!!

This is the stray from a month ago. Animal Care & Protective Services appears to be super busy right now with the seasonal influx of pets and has not been able to contact us back. The last few times we reached the answering service, we were informed that with the influx of dachshunds from the large group that was relinquished and they were not taking any new animals.

We don't want this girl to be forgotten, and it would be great to find her a home of her own for Christmas!

She only appears to be about a year old, she is very high energy and wants to run. Will happily do laps in our backyard for an hour during her breaks from the kennel. She was spayed and vaccinated about 10 days ago and her heartworm test was Negative!

We are not sure how she will do with cats, but she has been trying to get all of the dogs in the cages she walks past to play with her and licking at their faces.

She is about 43lbs.

If you would like to come by and visit her or play with her for a while, she would love that!
