HELP PUT ALL PAWS ON DECK ⚓🐾

On November 7, Jax Tours will host All Paws On Deck aboard the USS Orleck: a family-friendly adoption and fundraising event benefiting FOJA and ACPS.

We’re inviting businesses and community partners to come aboard as sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities range from Community Partner to Presenting Sponsor, with benefits including event recognition, logo placement, vendor space, and social media visibility.

Your business can help bring local shelter pets and potential adopters together while showing the community that you stand behind Jacksonville’s animals.

At Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS), our dedicated shelter partner, 100 heartworm-positive dogs are currently waiting for their next chapter.

This year, FOJA has funded 55 in-shelter heartworm treatments: helping dogs become healthy and ready for homes. Treatment is funded and completed in-shelter through the medical protocol, and adoption follows after treatment is finished.

Potential adopters can help by fostering a dog through treatment, giving them comfort, routine, and confidence while they heal. 🐾

In 2008, heartworm-positive dogs at ACPS had one outcome. A group of volunteers decided to change it.

In December 2025, the 5,000th dog crossed the line. 🐾

That’s 5,000 tails wagging in happy homes instead of being lost to a preventable disease. This isn't just a number; it’s a victory for every single person who supports our mission. Since 2009, FOJA has been 100% focused on providing the life-saving treatments that the city budget just can't cover.

Every single one of those survivors was made possible by donors like you. Because you showed up, they got to go home. 🏠💙

We are so grateful for this compassionate community: near and far: that believes every dog deserves a second chance at a healthy life. There are currently 100 heartworm-positive dogs at ACPS waiting for the care and second chance they deserve.

FOJA has funded 55 in-shelter heartworm treatments so far this year. Our current model funds treatment in the shelter, while a potential adopter can foster through the treatment period and finalize the adoption after the medical protocol is complete.

That means heartworm status does not have to be the end of a dog’s story. A foster home can provide a calm place to decompress, and your support helps provide the medical care that moves these dogs toward healthy futures.

KITTEN SEASON NEEDS FOSTERS 🐾

Bottle babies and young, underweight kittens need a safe place to grow before they’re ready for spay/neuter surgery. Because they cannot stay in the shelter overnight, foster homes are essential.

Fostering can be short-term, but the impact lasts a lifetime. A warm room, feeding support, and a little patience can give a vulnerable kitten the time needed to become healthy and ready for adoption.
