Went to Davis Park in Nocatee today. It is a nice park with two fenced in canine meadows, each with a lagoon. The first is the small dog and you have to drive past it to get to the large dog meadow and lagoon. The latter has a washing station in the parking lot, as well. What I like about it is that the layout is conducive to walking around it, not just standing around in one place - although some folks do that as well, just come in and let the pup swim. It is clean and well maintained. 👍

Last day at Dog Wood Park! There was definitely an elevated energy level and lots of people. Sad to see it go. However, the increasingly visible neglect of the property and deferred maintenance were increasingly worrisome, so it did feel like it was time for the Park to close, in its present form at least. And hopefully the customers (self included!) do get their refunds. I just don't understand how a former landfill gets zoned for multifamily use?!

Veterans Memorial Park in St. Johns County has one of the larger parks in the area, 3 acres, with large and small dog meadows, some trees, and a fountain to wash your dog off. Can get swampy in some areas after rain. Here is the link to the Park:

Atlantic Beach Dog Park is run by the city of Atlantic Beach and accessible by passes you get at City Hall. You must fill out an application. Can anyone provide reviews for this park? Here is the website:

Poochie's Park in Orange Park is 8 acres, also with a pond for swimming, is $34/month or $317/yr, $10 for the key fob. You must register and provide proof of vaccinations. Here is the link to their site:

Davis Park in Ponte Vedra/Nocatee says it has two fenced-in dog parks. I know the one with a lagoon and dog wash, not sure where the other is. Does anyone know the other area? This can be a solution for those whose dogs are swimmers:

A sprawling exercise area with 5 soccer fields, 3 football fields, 4 softball fields, and 6 baseball fields.

As we enjoy the last few days of Dog Wood Park before it closes, we are also researching alternate venues to gather and exercise with our dogs. Please share what you have found, and feel free to comment and ask questions.
