O’Malley came to us at PURE after being found unresponsive. He was severely hypothermic and his blood glucose was dangerously low at just 20.

Our team immediately went to work warming him, supporting his blood sugar, and providing IV medications and around the clock care.

After 24 hours, this handsome little guy made an incredible turnaround. 🥹❤️ He bounced back and is now doing phenomenal!

These are the moments we love most. Seeing a patient come in critically ill and then watching their little personality start to shine again is exactly why we do what we do.

Heart emergencies in pets don't always look the way you'd expect.

Signs of a potential cardiovascular crisis:
- Sudden weakness or collapse
- Rapid, labored, or irregular breathing
- Blue or pale gums
- Coughing that won't stop, especially at night
- Fainting or episodes of unresponsiveness
- Distended abdomen (fluid buildup around the heart)

Heart conditions can deteriorate quickly. PURE is equipped with ultrasound and in-house diagnostics to evaluate cardiac function and guide immediate treatment decisions.

Watching your pet have a seizure is terrifying. Here's what actually helps in that first minute.

What to do:
- Stay calm and time the seizure
- Move nearby objects away so they can't get hurt
- Keep your hands away from their mouth (they won't swallow their tongue, but they can bite unintentionally)
- Dim lights and lower noise if possible

Call us if:
- The seizure lasts longer than 2-3 minutes
- Your pet has more than one seizure in a 24-hour period
- They don't return to normal fairly quickly afterward

Seizures can stem from a wide range of causes, some urgent, some not. Our diagnostics help us find out what's happening and guide the right next step.

A urinary obstruction is one of the most painful — and dangerous — emergencies a pet can experience. And it can be easy to miss.

It's most common in male cats, but can affect dogs too.

Signs your pet may be blocked:
- Straining to urinate with little or no output
- Crying out or vocalizing in the litter box or while squatting
- Frequent trips to urinate with nothing happening
- Lethargy, loss of appetite, or vomiting
- Licking at the ge***al area excessively

A full obstruction can become fatal within 24–48 hours. If you're seeing these signs, this is not a 'wait and see' situation.
