🐾💙 MURPHY NEEDS THE RIGHT PERSON 💙🐾

Murphy came into the shelter a few weeks ago as a stray. At only about a year old, this handsome Lab had clearly never been taught much of anything. No commands. No leash manners. Lots of energy. Lots of barking. Just a big, wild puppy who had absolutely no idea what was expected of him.

And guess what? He’s learning. ❤️

Our rescue president has been spending time working with Murphy at the shelter, and his progress in just a few days has been pretty incredible. His sit is becoming solid, he’s learning down with a hand signal, he’s beginning to walk politely beside his handler instead of pulling, and his eye contact and engagement are AMAZING.

Murphy wants to learn. He just needs someone willing to teach him.🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

But we also want to be completely transparent about the home he needs. Murphy can be extremely barky with new people, particularly men, and he is reactive when he sees other dogs. He passed his temperament testing and did okay when introduced to another dog, but his energy level may simply be too much for some dogs. Right now, we think the best thing for Murphy is an experienced, dog savvy person who can focus on continuing the progress he has already made.

We have received applications for Murphy, but so far, they have not been the right fit. We are not looking to simply get him out of the shelter. We are looking for the person who can help him become the dog we already see underneath all that energy.

This will NOT be a walk in the park. Murphy needs structure, consistency, exercise and someone committed to training. Our rescue will be there to provide guidance and support along the way.

🏡 We are ideally looking for a FOSTER or FOSTER TO ADOPT home close to Jackson, NJ. A fenced yard would be a huge plus, along with an active, confident and dog savvy person who is ready to put in the work.

Murphy doesn’t need someone expecting a perfectly trained dog.

He needs someone who sees what he COULD be. ❤️

🩷 HOW HAS ZARA NOT BEEN ADOPTED YET?! 🩷

Zara is officially 3 years old, 110 pounds, and thriving in her foster home. And before anyone asks, nope, she is definitely not overweight. 😂 She’s just a whole lot of dog and a whole lot of love!

Her foster family has gotten to see what life with Zara is really like, and this girl is the total package.

🏡 Housebroken
🩷 Crate trained
🐾 Friendly and affectionate
🍖 No resource guarding
🥰 Loves her people
✨ Doing absolutely amazing in her foster home

She really is such an easy girl to love.

Zara does have one little quirk that makes us laugh. A fenced yard is going to be a must because this girl does NOT like to potty on a leash. 😂 Apparently Zara prefers a little privacy and the freedom to choose her own bathroom spot!

She loves affection, loves being with her people, and has settled beautifully into home life. Her foster home has given us the chance to see just how wonderful she really is.

Zara would do best as the only pet in an adult home or one with teens, where she can soak up all the attention she deserves.

She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and ready for someone to look at her and realize they just found their girl. 🩷

This is really urgent

🚨🆘 POPS NEEDS A PLACE TO CRASH! 🆘🚨

Our shelter partner is completely overwhelmed, just like so many shelters right now. The difference? This is a small animal control facility that desperately relies on rescue partners to help save lives.

Meet Pops. ❤️

At around 3 years old, Pops is a friendly, shorter guy who is ready to leave the shelter behind. He has been reported to have no resource guarding and has done well with other dogs.

✅ Vaccinated

Pops will just need to be scheduled for his neuter and microchip, and he’ll be ready for his next chapter.

We are urgently looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home. Even a temporary foster would make a huge difference and could truly save his life.

🐾 We ask that fosters live within 60 minutes of Jackson, New Jersey.
🐾 We provide all food, supplies, and veterinary care—you simply provide a safe place for Pops to land.
