🐾 Kenny Rescued! 🐾

This young man recently found himself homeless when his family gave up on him. Kenny is a sweet boy who came to us with zero manners and needed a little help—especially after not doing great on his food test, a behavior we see far too often in an overcrowded shelter environment.

Our friends at Pitties and Pals Rescue stepped in to help (after all, their rescue started right here at our little shelter!), and we are so grateful.

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who worked with Kenny over the past few weeks—teaching him to politely come out of his kennel, sit at doorways, and walk nicely by their side. These small steps make a HUGE difference for a shelter dog.

Kenny’s journey is just beginning, and he still needs a foster or forever home. For now, he’ll be kenneled, but he’ll be spending time with volunteers and attending events for extra exposure.

Special thanks to our volunteer and Pitties volunteer Marion for transporting Kenny and helping him settle in. We already heard from Pitties’ president that Kenny had a wonderful walk this evening and even spent almost two hours out of his kennel—he was so tired, he actually laid down and relaxed! ❤️

Kenny deserves this fresh start, and we can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next.

💔💔!!! RESCUE NEEDED !!! 💔💔

Please help our girl Luna! We are in need of a 501(c)3 to step up as soon as possible for this girl!!

Our other beautiful girls, Rosalyn and Ellie, were both saved at the last minute by wonderful Rescue partners and we are hoping for a miracle for Luna.

Luna came to us a few months back, surrendered when her owners said they were moving and could not take her. So heartbreaking, losing her home and family and being left in a shelter patiently waiting for help.

Luna was extremely anxious when she first arrived the shelter. She is still nervous but doing the very best she can to handle the change in her world. Luna has passed all of her assessments, has no resource guarding, plays nicely with toys, takes treats gently, no issues with food or bones and lived with older children. Although Luna did not have any reaction to other dogs when she first arrived at the shelter, as time has gone on, we see that she has become more interested in them and perhaps would be best as an only dog.

Luna is a gorgeous 2 1/2 to 3 year old Belgian Malinois mix. She is a fantastic dog that needs something to do, someone to work her and give her the stimulation and exercise she needs for her mind and body. She should not be sitting in a kennel 24 hours a day and really considering she only gets a short amount of time out every day, she is really handling it as best she can.

Sadly, our Shelter has nonstop surrenders and strays coming in daily and dogs like Luna are most in jeopardy. She needs to get out of the shelter immediately.

We need another miracle, we need a hero, we need a 501 (c)3 Rescue that can help our girl Luna safely on her journey. If your Rescue has any room and can help Luna, please reach out to [email protected] as soon as possible!!!

Luna needs help now!!!!

Just like our other wonderful dogs, Rosalyn and Ellie, beautiful Luna deserves a chance. 💔

Please share Luna far and wide we need a miracle !!

💔 RESCUE/FOSTER NEEDED!💔

This face breaks our hearts every day. Raven is such a great little girl and she needs help now!

This sweet petite lowrider with the cutest little face going needs help immediately. Raven came to the shelter after getting into a tussle with the other dog in the home. Yes, she did live with another dog, but apparently she likes to be the boss so she would be best as an only dog. She is such a great littke girl, has passed all of her assessments, has no resource guarding, plays nicely, walks well on leash and has the best smile and the most beautiful little mug!! Raven is the perfect size and the perfect age at approximately 6 years old. We know she would be a wonderful companion.

So once again our amazing rescue partner, Pitties And Pals Rescue NJ, who has helped so many of our dogs in need is standing by ready to help this little girl, but they urgently need a foster. If you are looking to save a life, to open your heart and your home to a truly wonderful and deserving dog, please consider fostering our girl Raven. The Rescue provides everything needed and they are there to support you every step of the way.

We need to get Raven out of the shelter as soon as possible. If you are interested in fostering, please reach out to Pitties and Pals or email [email protected].

Like so many others, our Shelter is taking in dogs every single day and it is extremely important that dogs like Raven, who need a little extra help, find safety through a Rescue. Please look at this face, please consider fostering.

💜 RESCUED 💜

Gary has left the shelter!! Once again, our amazing rescue partner NJSH Pet Rescue has helped another very deserving pup safely out of the shelter.

It is hard to imagine that this handsome boy came to the shelter as a stray. Sadly, he needed a little extra help out of the Shelter and NJSH did not hesitate. Thank you once again Donna and everyone at NJSH Pet Rescue and of course a big thank you to Madelyn for giving Gary his freedom ride and a loving foster home.

Congratulations and good luck Gary,
wishing you the very best life.

💔 Still No Interest in Saphie… 💔
Not one inquiry. Not a single meet. We’re heartbroken—for her.

Saphie is stressed, and we’re worried she’s starting to lose hope. She came to us after being surrendered—through no fault of her own—and she’s been waiting patiently, watching other dogs come and go, wondering when it will finally be her turn.

She’s a bubbly, happy girl by nature, full of love and joy. She lights up when she gets to run, play, and stretch her legs, and she walks beautifully on leash. But kennel life is wearing on her. This sweet 2.5-year-old pittie mix deserves more than a cage and a routine—she deserves a home.

🐾 Saphie would do best as the only dog in the home, though she’s not reactive to others from a distance.
👧 She’d thrive with older kids—she’s still working on her manners when she gets excited.

She’s:
• ✅ Spayed
• 💉 Up-to-date on vaccines
• 🩺 Heartworm negative
• 🔍 Microchipped

Like so many black dogs, Saphie keeps getting overlooked—but she’s truly a gem just waiting to shine. Her tail still wags, her eyes still light up when she sees people—she’s holding on to hope, and so are we.

📍 Visit her at Northern Ocean County Animal Facility at 615 Freemont Ave, Jackson, NJ — open daily from 1–4 PM, no appointment needed.

✨ Please don’t let her spirit fade. Share Saphie. You could be the reason she finally goes home. ✨

What an amazing Sunday — we’ve got more great news! Our handsome boy Rocket the Husky went home today! 🐾💙

This sweet little guy didn’t have to wait long, and we’re thrilled he found his perfect match. He’s such a special pup, and now he’s off to start his next adventure! 🐶✨

While Rocket’s story has a happy ending, there are so many dogs and cats still waiting for their forever homes — including some of our long-term residents. 🐕🐈

Stop by, spend some time with them, and let them show you just how amazing they truly are. 💛

🎉 Happy Adoption News! 🎉

Our little firecracker Drake was officially adopted today!! 💥🐾 This spunky peanut found his perfect match, and we couldn’t be happier.

Drake may be small, but his personality is HUGE — and now he’s off to live his very best life! 🐶❤️

A huge thank you to his new family for choosing adoption and giving him the love and home he deserves.

Another day of rescue!! Today a volunteer from Jersey Shore Animal Foundation will be transporting 10 very lucky kitties to another one of our wonderful rescue partners, Itty Bitty Kitty Inc in PA. This will allow the shelter to take a deep breath and fill the cages with new faces of adoptables waiting on the back.

Thanks Kim for spending the week organizing and Maureen for taking the 4-5hr round trip drive 🚙 Be safe!
