We had an awesome time making friends and sharing puppy cuddles at Jackson Pride over the weekend, but the cuteness doesn't stop there! Meet Bert & Ernie, our one-year-old pit mix duo named after the most famous best friends from Sesame Street! 🐾💛🧡

Just like their namesakes, these boys are full of fun, charm, and silliness. They love playtime, activity time, and making new doggy friends. Both are sweet, friendly, and ready to bring laughter and joy into your home.

At only a year old, Bert & Ernie still have that bouncy puppy spirit but also plenty of love to give. Whether adopted together or separately, they’re sure to be the best pals you’ve been looking for! 🐶🐶 They're both neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and ready to sing and dance out of this joint!

Our babies are getting in the spirit for Halloween a little early, but they heard something about treats and there was no stopping them. That train left the station as soon as they figured out there was a snack involved. Jessie G, Judy Lee, Petunia, Xandra, and Aspen are all looking to trick their way into your heart so that you can treat them to couch snuggles, bites off your plate, and belly rubs. All are friendly and sweet, love people, and are good with most other dogs. They've all been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and are ready to roll out of here to their new homes. They're available for auditions with prospective parents during our adoption hours at the shelter!

🚨 RED ALERT 🚨

We are officially OUT of room. Our shelter has 53 dogs crammed inside, and 40 of them are ready for adoption right now. Every kennel is full. Every space is taken. There is nowhere left to put another dog.

This is the kind of overcrowding that keeps us awake at night. Sweet, loving, adoptable dogs are staring through kennel doors, begging for a family — but unless adoptions happen immediately, we cannot keep up.

We are calling on our community with urgency:
🐾 Adopt – If you’ve been thinking about adding a furry family member, now is the time.
🐾 Rescue – 501c3 rescues, we need you. There are no pull fees for approved groups, and every transfer saves lives.
🐾 Share – Your share could be the reason someone sees their future best friend today.

This is not a drill. We have no empty kennels and every single adoption or rescue counts. Please, come meet these incredible dogs and help us give them the homes they deserve — before it’s too late. Every one of them is spayed/ neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed. That's almost $400 in vet care included in their $80 adoption fee!

🚨 137 DAYS. That’s how long Sako has been stuck waiting for his “Gotcha Day.” Which is wild, because this boy is basically the full adoption package wrapped in fluff. 🎁🐾

Sako is a 2 year old outgoing, friendly husky mix who:
✨ Loves people (all the people, all the time)
✨ Loves other dogs (bonus points if they’re wild and rowdy like him)
✨ Has enough energy to keep up with your kids, your neighbor’s kids, and probably the entire soccer team

He’s the kind of dog who will happily join your adventures, then make you laugh with his goofy antics when you get home.

Gale, Glacier, and Greta are hunky chunks of bully love! They're part of a litter of 5 who were abandoned at a vacant house and have just finished their medical quarantine and initial vetting. All 3 are very gentle and submissive in the scary shelter and are looking for their forever homes, where they can grow into outgoing playful puppies who don't even remember what these days were like, because all they know is love, structure and snacks. They're going to be big babies once they're grown (60-70 pounds most likely), and will be professionals at holding down your couch and giving you the sad eyes for a bite of whatever you're eating. They're currently 15 weeks old and almost 30 pounds. They've all been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and are current on flea/heartworm prevention. Their adoption fee is $80 and they're available for adoption starting Tuesday September 23rd ❤️

Holy guacamole! These babies are ADORABLE!!! These cutie patootie, mixed breed lumps of sugar were dumped in the Los Portales parking lot a couple of weeks ago and, thanks to the soft hearts and quick actions of the owners/staff, they were rescued before they could get injured. They were not in great shape at the time, but have rebounded and are all healthy, vaccinated, sterilized, and ready to find their forever families. In honor of their trials and tribulations, they were named after the yummy goodness that comes out of Los Portales. Everybody- Meet Burrito, Churro, Empanada, Enchilada, and Panchito! They are 11 weeks old and are SWEETHEARTS! They're available for adoption beginning Saturday (September 20th), and their adoption fee is $80. If you've been looking for your new best friend, one of these little snacks could be the ticket! We're open for adoptions 12 pm to 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
