Id like the community be aware of how our Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce is treating its members. Here is the email I received today from its new Director.

🚨Hi Shae,

I understand your frustration about recent posts not being shared, and I wanted to let you know about the update that came out of a recent board meeting. To ensure fairness and help everyone’s content get the visibility it deserves, the board voted to allow one shared post per week for each Chamber member. You just need to let me know each week what post you would like shared by messaging me or sending me the post.
You’re still welcome to tag us in as many posts as you’d like, and if a business wants additional shares, they can request them for $10/share. This change is something many Chambers have adopted, as too many shared posts were causing the Chamber’s own updates—and members’ posts as well—to get buried and go unseen.
Our goal isn’t to limit anyone, but to make sure all members’ content performs better, and the Chamber page remains useful and effective for everyone. I truly appreciate your understanding, and I’m happy to visit with you if you’d like to talk through it further.

🚨Our Reply

Hi Kylee this is Shae Clemons with Dymn Pamper Pets. Thank you for your message. After reviewing the Chamber’s new policy and reflecting on our experience over the last year we have made a decision regarding our membership.

Charging members extra for content sharing and placing limits on visibility is not aligned with our business values.

Nickel and diming members while also providing inconsistent communication does not reflect the standard that Dymn Pamper Pets stands for. As a business that invests heavily in our community we expect the same level of support and transparency in return.

Because of this we will no longer represent the Chamber and will not renew or continue our membership moving forward. We wish the Chamber well and hope these concerns help bring attention to issues that directly affect member trust and participation.
